    1850 list

So I am helping my friend build a nid army and this is the list I was think of for him.

    HQ - Hive Tyrant = 197 points
    - adrenal glands ( both ), winged, toxin sacs, warp field, scything talons *2
    HQ - Hive Tyrant = 121 points
    - enhanced senses, twin linked devourer *2, toxin sacs

    Elites - Warriors ( 3 bugs ) = 105 points
    - adrenal glands ( I ), scything talons, leaping, rending claws

    Troops - Genestealers ( 12 bugs ) *3 = 756 points ( 252 per squad )
    - extended carapace, flesh hooks

    Fast Attack - Raveners ( 2 bugs ) *3 = 240 points ( 80 per squad )
    - scything talons, rending claws

    Heavy Support - Carnifex *2 = 426 points ( 213 per one )
    - barbed strangler, venom cannon, bonded exoskeleton, enhanced senses, regenerate, reinforced chitin

    Total = 1845

I have only played vs tyranids a few times and I normaly play daemonhunters so not use to your units or lists so any advice would be great.

    HQ - Hive Tyrant = 121 points
    - enhanced senses, twin linked devourer *2, toxin sacs
Unless otherwise winged drop the toxin sacs and devourers for some long range support, venom cannon and barbed strangler.

    Elites - Warriors ( 3 bugs ) = 105 points
    - adrenal glands ( I ), scything talons, leaping, rending claws
Exchange the adrenal glands for extended carapaces, it will serve the Warriors better getting to combat and in combat.

    Troops - Genestealers ( 12 bugs ) *3 = 756 points ( 252 per squad )
    - extended carapace, flesh hooks
Break these up into 6 squads of 6, spread out the destruction. Plus the more targets the opponent has the better off you/he will be.

    Heavy Support - Carnifex *2 = 426 points ( 213 per one )
    - barbed strangler, venom cannon, bonded exoskeleton, enhanced senses, regenerate, reinforced chitin
Drop the regenerate, its expensive and often won't do you any good.

*sigh* Path beats me to another list. I agree with almost everything he said.

    1) OK, the AG on the warriors is fine but not necessary. Definitely put EC on them, then add or remove AG to taste.

    2) Again like path said, switch the devourers on the Tryant to VC and BS, but I think you should leave on the toxin sacs. The toxin sacs will be a really expensive upgrade due to the increase of points cost for the guns, but prolly worth it. With the points you save by removing regenerate from the carnifexes you can afford a tryant guard, and I would suggest using one.

    3) +I AG on your winged tyrant is really really expensive, so take it off unless you are planning on fighting HQ units, Eldar, or what not that are I5-I6. Same deal with the AG for WS, it only matters if your opponent is WS5 or WS6 (but the WS AG is pretty cheap so not a big deal).

    4) Finally, there is something I think you should consider. It's the option I would take, but it's opinion and either way will work. I'd drop 3 raveners so they are broods of one. That increases the odds your opponent will have to waste shots on them (overkilling one instead of killing two). With the points, add some cheap spinegaunts or termagants to give you more numbers. You have plenty of synapse for them, and that will help force your opponent to fail morale checks in CC, allowing you to sweeping advance and move on to the next squad.
