Seriously thinking of switching to Eldar, but don't have the opportunity to play while I'm abroad (I know, why should I complain, what's not to love about 4 months abroad, right?).
Anyway, been looking at the forums and bought a codex which finally got here today. I'm looking to start a force I can later add to and that will complement my playing style. Before I played Slaanesh and loved the Uber-HQ and daemons, realizing now that the HQ doesn't exist (but the daemons might in the Harlies). Sooooo, here's my list.
80 Farseer, Doom
123 x8 Dire Avengers, Exarch, Bladestorm
114 x6 Rangers
102 x5 Harlies, x3 Harl Kisses
80 x5 Fire Dragon
That should come out to 499. Options include switching the Harlies and Fire Dragons for a full squad of War Walkers with Scatter Lasers. Eventually I think that would be something I would like. I know inevitably I will have to proxy all this before deciding what to do. Any pointers and suggestions will be appreciated. Here's what I would like it to look like, eventually, I think.
138 Farseer, Spirit Stones, Doom, Guide, Runes 'o' Warding, Singing Spear (To go with Wraithguard)
105 Farseer, Mind War, Jetbike (Might switch for an Autarch after some play testing)
132 x6 Harl, x6 Harl Kiss
131 x6 Fire Dragon, Exarch, Tank Hunt, Fire Pike.(After play test, might put them in a serpent...sacrificing somewhere else)
225 x5 Wraithguard, Spiritseer, Conceal, Singing spear (The core, marching with Wraithlord and first Farseer. Might try the wave serpent run around and pick off things idea)

Troops(seems a little skimpy at the moment, but can't figure anything else out...yet)

I think that comes out to exactly 2000 pts after adding some singing spears here and there. I've got the Pathfinders for forcing pinning, but other than that I'm just trying to create a balanced list. Please rip it to shreds!
[EDIT] accidentally typed Pathfinders instead of Rangers. Points were ok for Rangers, but I would have been over for Pathfinders.

I like your list, because your unit selection is so diverse. One big quarrel I have is that there are too many small units. T3 4+ save will fail you quite commonly, and you don't have the bodies to soak up the hits. You will be out shot by many other shooty armies and out maneuvered be many mobile ones. Perhaps think about getting a couple wave serpents to transport your vulnerable and slow units or adding to your model count and ranged power. It is important to think about each unit’s role and exactly how one unit will support another one. I hope my comments to follow will help.I think he would be much more effective in the squad of dire avengers. Also with BS4 units, guide looses a lot of its effectiveness and value. If you mounted him on a jetbike he can support any unit he wanted/needed to. If the enemy knows anything about harlies he will never let them get anywhere close.
