    1500 pts Ulthwe

So here is my first attempt at a 1500 pts list. I usually play 1850, so I've decided to try and get more used to 1500 style of play.

    Avatar: 155 pts
Farseer: /w fortune, guide, spirit stone, singing spear, and runes of warding: 143 pts
Warlocks (4): /w 2x destructor, enhance, and singing spear: 138 pts

Harlequins (: /w 6x harlequins kisses, shadowseer, and troupe master, /w power weapons: 218 pts

    Guardians (10): /w scatter laser: 95 pts
    Guardians (10): /w scatter laser: 95 pts
Guardians (10): /w Eldar missile launcher: 100 pts
Guardians (10): /w Eldar missile launcher: 100 pts

Warp Spiders (: /w exarch, /w power blades, 2x deathspinners, and withdraw: 218 pts
Vyper: /w bright lance: 75 pts

Wraithlord: /w 2x flamers, Eldar missile launcher, and bright lance: 155 pts

    Total Points: 1492 pts
Total Models: 51 infantry, 1 vehicle, and 2 monstrous creatures

what do you guys think? good? bad? ugly?

That lone Vyper will do nothing as currently configured. Give it 2x Shuriken cannons. Then add with the extra points... add in some other things aside from destructor and enhance: augument and embolden are useful...

Looks like another overstocked HQ for an Ulthwe army, more than 400 pts brings it close to a third of your army. I'd reconsider your farseer config, as the only unit with fortuning is either his own or the Harlies. Also guide would be a waste as none of your units have more than one heavy weapon in them.

Offers good versatility in your army, however a lack of speed from the rest of your units means that you either intend at sending these alone (maybe with the spiders) at your enemy, and that is not enough units to make it there; or you intend on using them as a counter attacker, but you dont have enough distanced weapons to seriously injure the enemy, and they will be obliterated by all the units being sent at you.

Not sure what your intent for these units is, because they have no warlocks and all have platforms then they are basically expensive immobile vipers. They wont get to shoot their catapults and with missile launchers the shots wont be worth the price. I'd remove them all or at least exchange for some shuriken cannons, add a few warlocks with conceal, to allow movement/blocking of the rest of your army. If you really want the heavy weapons, add a battery, I like using shadow weavers with a mobile army myself. While not all that effective against MEQ, they do prevent bunching up and make an easier job of using your close range units to take out the loose units rather than tightly bunched ones.

Again offers good mobility, but really most effective if the rest of your forces are there to draw some fire.

Expensive shooty wraithlord, but his toughness/fear-inducing-ness will be wasted with him hanging back and taking pot shots at enemy armor. You definitely need a falcon for some anti tank and mobility.

So overall, drop the warlocks, change the farseer (make him cheaper), make guardian squads bigger/change or remove the platforms/add conceal warlocks, probably drop vyper you have plenty of anti mob so a 2x cannon or scatter laser config will waste points, probably drop the missile launcher on the wraithlord and try to squeeze in a falcon somewhere.

    -Nucleonauts (started)
