I currently have about 1200 points of eldar, and would like to expand it to 2000. This the list i have come up with:
-Eldrad Ulthran: 210
P/W & S.S
-with wave serpent 1
-Wave serpent 1:120
T/L shruikan cannons
shruikan cannon upgrade
-Fire Dragons(10): 195
-with wave serpent 2
-Wave Serpent 2: 130
T/L eldar M/L
-Howling Banshees(10): 187
-with wave serpent 3
-Wave Serpent 3: 110
T/L shruikan cannons
-Dark Reapers(5): 227
Fire Prism: 150
I plan to sit the Reapers, wraithlord, pathfinders, and fire prism back in cover as a stationary firebase. While the rest of the moble elements in wave serpents race across the board to either assault or shoot my opponent. I think Eldrad will go with the Avengers while the other farseer stays with my firebase. Also, since i do not want to do the Ulthwe craftworld Eldrad will count as Eldrad but i will consider him a normal farseer. I can't decide what craftworld to do so based on the army selection what craftworld would fit? Thanks for the help!
And the fire dragons seem awfully large...
Thanks for the help. First of all, a wave serpent can actually hold 12 men so i can include eldrad. Secondly, the reason i have such a big unit of fire dragons is simply b/c there awesome models and i could reasonably take out a squad of termies or a LR with them.
The issue that only a few of your guys will be within melta-special-rule range. If their not, then they are toast, no pun intended. And to do so would put them at the mercy of whatever unit they were right in front of, in case of a death or glory attempt. Then suddenly without a transport, fire dragons are a short ranges static target.
A good looking list in general. A couple of things that you may want to change:
Waveserpents are the best places in the eldar army to mount brightlances, so I prefer to put all my lances there. You could drop some dragons from the squad to accomodate this.
On subject of dragons, if you want to run a large squad because it's fun then sure. However, as a tank hunting team, a minimal squad of 6 does just fine.
Fireprisms come best in 2's or 0's. The TL AP3 pie plate is just too good to pass up. And if you're not going against MEQ, then you get 2 AP4 Pie plates. Leave the tank hunting to the waveserpents. I'd also consider spirit stones on all your vehicles and vectored engines on the banshees' serpent.
Other than that it looks to be a fun list.
Dreams give us a vision of a world unlike any we have seen. They present us with a glimpse of a better life; a goal to aspire to, and in the face of insurmountable odds, they provide us with the power to overcome, to live on, and to succeed where we would have otherwise failed.
