I recommend dropping everything except the extended carapaces off these guys, they are a bit expensive.

I suggest dropping one ravener for another Zoanthrope. You need more synapse, and another warp blast is going to help against both tanks and troops.

Whatever points you have left would be well spent buying more gaunts.

It might not seem smart but run these Raveners in as small of squads as possible, since you have 4 here: 2, 1, 1. Your opponent will have to spread out his fire and you might be able to distract him from some of the other dangers in your list.

Ie. the more he spreads out his fire the safer your units are, the more he focuses on a unit of raveners the safer your genestealers are.

K i seperated the squads (actually i was just thinking of doing that right before i checked that u posted). Any other tips on anything else. My army may be a bit fragile especially to heavy bolters and tanks may be a problem since it'll be a while before i can actually reach them to kill them with my tyrant. But as long as i try to stay in combat i should be ok since i can't be shot at, although there's a difference between trying and actually doing.

This is just personal preference, but I would drop the carapace and pick 3 more stealers. Just make sure you use cover, but with the speed of the raveners you should be able to tie up your enemies so they you can start behind cover, use combat as cover on turn two, and then assault on turn three.

I would also drop the warpfield for 2 more stealers...Once you are in combat warpfield isn't really that good because the things that are going to wound you are going to ignore the save anyways. When you are not in combat you only have to worry about missle launchers, which typically can't move and shoot so they tend to be easy to avoid.

You get a +6 Invulnerable Save along with the +2 save. Correct me if I'm wrong, but very few armies have a ton of things that ignore Invulnerable Saves. +6 may not seem that great, but it's better than no save at all. Getting that +6 any time you normally wouldn't get a save makes it more than worth it to sport a WF.

I agree with you on the warpfield and 6+ save being helpful however just getting it for 6+ save doesn't justify its point cost. I will however still keep the warpfield and im also gonna keep the EC on the stealers. The warpfield will be very useful against the many starcannons i tend to face at my local GW. Some of my friends think i should drop the raveners cuz they'll die EXTREMELY quickly to bolters. Im kinda screwed without cover but the raveners i think it's ok if they die because by shooting at them the opponent will have to spread out his fire and will ignore the genestealers which will cost him/her so I can be ok with that. Any tactics or strategies any of you know of for an army similar to mine?

If you know your raveners are going to die before they make it to assault then I would drop there rending claws for scything talons. They'll be cheaper and will still have power should they make it to assault.

    Zoes

Since this army is CC based I'd drop the Warp Blast from the Zonathropes and give them Psychic Scream. The effects of Psychic Scream are cumulative so it will make your opponents fall back like crazy and fail their target priority tests and spend all of their time shooting useless gaunts instead of your more expensive models. If you can, I'd put it on the Hive Tyrant as well.

1,800 + Points of Imperial Guard
    1,600 + Points of Eldar
