Welcome to Librarium Online!
I'm going to enter a league in a few weeks and need a list that is well-rounded enough to take on any given army (I think it will mostly be marines, however). Here's what I have in mind:
Necron Lord w/ Veil of Darkness & Res Orb
10 Flayed Ones
6 Scarabs w/ D. Fields
1 Tomb Spider w/ Particle Projector
1744pts total / Phase out 12
Any comments would be appreciated. I'm not against buying a couple more models if anyone thinks I badly need them, but for reference here's what I have to work with all together:
Nightbringer, Deceiver, Dest. Lord, Reg. Lord
6 Flayed Ones (i'm planning on getting 4 more for this list)
1 Heavy Destroyer
1 Tomb Spider with Particle Projector
id drop the wraiths and flayed ones and tomb spyder. keep the list shooty, combat is only good if you max on wraiths, scarabs and take a destroyer lord.
add a monolith imo, and a heavy destroyer, possibly buy a second too and run 2 single H.Des units.
or, if you want to go combat, use 2 units of 3 wraiths, and a 10 base scarab unit, a destroyer lord, split the fleyed ones to 2 five man units, possibly drop one unit of warriors if you need points.
using 2 heavy destroyers and a monolith instead of the spider, flayed ones, and wraiths sounds like a great idea, thanks! it brings the points to 1751 which i think will still be legal... although do u think it'd hurt me to lack in combat and focus solely on firepower if i go agaist IG or tau?
In shooting? IG and tau are the easiest! apart from tau's superior range, one your guns are in range you will win a shootout anyday! and guard, well they are just squishy. all your guns can deal with the takns, and flay the troops and their low armour saves.
awesome! so who would pose the biggest threat in your opinion?
Marines, chaos, anything with a 3+ save or better, just so hard to kill! lol, how hypocritical... Just need to concentrate your firepower, and watch out for those power weapons and high strength guns!
the deceiver should be able to deal with most though. also, if the enemy infiltrates anything, use the deceivers ability to reposition him so that he can get into CC with the infiltrators asap, then when he is, use his other ability in the enemies turn to move out of CC, and in your next turn, he should be in the main enemy battleline tearing things apart!
