Welcome to Librarium Online!
Alright Well I'm a brand new Eldar player, have only been collecting army for about a month and a half now and had my first two 1,500 point battles today, both were by Space Marines and neither one of them was that close - but it really wasn't all bad strategy i'm also talking incredibly unkind dice gods - regardless i want to hear any and all input you might have regarding this army list. Most of the gamers at my local hobby shop run Marines of MEQ w/ a few IG armies thrown in as well.
Farseer - Singing Spear, Guide, Fortune-128
Banshees x6 w/ exarch - executioner, war shout - 128
Harlequins - 3 with kiss & close combat
2 with fusion gun & close combat
1 with shurken pistol and close combat
1 Troupe Master w/ Power weapon and close combat - 230
Dire Avengers- x10 w/ exarch - power weapon and shimmer shield w/ bladestorm
Rangers - x6 Pathfinders - 162
Guardians - x18 w/ scatter laser
Heavy Support -
Wraithlord - with Wraithsword and Shuriken Cannon - 110
Walker - bright lance and scatter laser - 80
Falcon - Bright Lance - Holofield - Spirit Stones -Star Engines - 215
Wave Serpent - Spirit Stones - TL EML
The only other models I currently have for the eldar are a squad of 3 vypers, 2 w/ bright lance 1 w/ strarcannon, a unit of 6 striking scorpions w/ exarch, and then 8 storm guardians. Any recommendations on how to use current force w/ units I already have or recommendations as to what else to get to complement my army?? any and all advice is greatly appreciated!
Well, here's what I'd do with his list. Though depending on how many tanks your opponents play it might not have enough to combat them. but anyway...
First things first I'd give your farseer spirit stones so he can cast both guide and fortune on the same turn if he needs to.
I'd change the banshees into a comparably priced scorpion squad, I find that they're more survivable, and the higher strength will help seeing that you don't have doom.
I'd take the fusion pistols off the harlequins unless you really feel that you need them. They make an already expensive unit more expensive.
Troops are fine
First of all, I hate the wraithsword. Re-rolling an attack isn't that great when a wraithlord only has 2 attacks to begin with. I'd change it to a scatter laser.
Again this depends on how often you face up against tanks, but your war walker seems to have a split purpose. I suggest specialising with it a bit more and giving it another scatter laser rather than the bright lance. It's also a lot cheaper.
There's two things I've learned from cheredanine about falcons. 1 is that star engines are next to useless. 2 is that you should never put any other weaponry on a falcon above strength 6. That way it can move 12 inches and still fire every weapon it has. Only recently have I seen just how good this advice is. What I'd do is remove the star engines, change the bright lance into a scatter laser and turn the twin-linked catapults into a shuriken cannon. Then you have a falcon that can take out troops well and can still go after armour by zooming up and taking shots at side and rear armour.
"You challenge me knowing that I am Xiahou Dun!?"
The above post was pretty good but I am going to hit a few points that he missed.what are you fortuning? definitely get spirit stones but I would also switch fortune to doom.Farseer - Singing Spear, Guide, Fortune-128You are giving this squad a mixed purpose, if you are going to go with the PW + SS make sure you get defend as well.Dire Avengers- x10 w/ exarch - power weapon and shimmer shield w/ bladestormI would rather see less bodies in this squad and have a warlock with either conceal or embolden here.Guardians - x18 w/ scatter laserThe WL is BS4, that is where you want your single shot brightlance to be. Do that and make the walker 2x scatter lasers.Wraithlord - with Wraithsword and Shuriken Cannon - 110
Walker - bright lance and scatter laser - 80you cannot move and fire both the pulse laser and the bright lance. Change the bright lance to a shuricannon and upgrade the dual catapults to a shuricannon. Drop the star engines. If you are using this to transport the banshees then get Vectored engines instead. Although I do recommend changing the banshees to scorpions with out a seer with doom in the list.Falcon - Bright Lance - Holofield - Spirit Stones -Star Engines - 215
