well it was a very long game he had 4 units left, but he took 1 down and i failed my WBB roll, Phase out =(, just trying to figure out how to take a lot less loses agains this army, i belive he was packing
Wraithlord- bright lance and Rocket Luncher
3 squads of Dire advengers, belive 12 in each group
1 longrange unit
1 of each of there HQ, 1 keept casting guide on the the dam lord
1 group of Haloquines, 1 shadowseer in there
and 1 group of fire Dragons off the top of my head
and heres wat i plan to be packing
Kill his Wraithlord with massed fire...i sudgest your immortals., keep your army flanked to one side of the board he'll probably span out..
Priorities will be, wraithlord(to avoid locking in combat where you can't do a thing but die)
direavg's are cool and all, but they will die by the droves at the hands of AP4 shots....As will most of the rest of his army..
The dragons are mounted correct? Don't bother shooting at the thing until he's ready to attack your lines (he'll run it into your face and park it...next turn he'll deploy and shoot).....
While he's parked use your gauss rule to let that vehicle have it.
like I said, the spells and tricks are great and all, but doom/guide won't win his fight for him...You get rid of the lord with the immortals, and the Dire avengers will fall fast....
The Firedragons at most can put out...6-7 shots if they're transported...
So really are you that worried about 6-7 necrons compared to the points he pays for FD's?
Prioritize and you'll be ok
actually thery wernt mounted =)
no mounted then they'll be slow..
and with a max of 18" range on the exarch(the rest are 12"), that means at absolute LEAST it's 2 turns of moving before he can even begin shooting at you (that's if you setup behind the 12" and him directly AT 12")
so FD's are nothing to worry about...
So my advice remains..eliminate the dread, then go for the dires..with the immortals
use your Destroyers to target the Firedragons and pick them off from a distance..unless in cover the dragons will probably go down in 1 round of shooting...(2 at most unless your dice sukk it up)
From the look of the stuff you remember him having that will put him in a hurting position where he'll be forced to run at you and bladestorm with the dires, so you just keep your lines back as far as possible and pelt them with fire till they die and if you have to charge them with your lord to keep them from tieing up your immortals/warriors..
Lord knows you don't want to have 1 immortal die, then they fail LD and get ran down...

I think the only thing able to take down your monolith is the wraithlord, so make that a priority, aim as much firepower at it as possible. Hopefully you can take it down in the fiurst few turns.
Then deepstrike your monolith amongst his army. Use its teleport ability to keep your units (specifically warriors) out of combat. The gauss flux arc should be able to take out most of his warriors, and use your other shooting to clean up and cause morale checks.
I've found scarabs and wraiths to be really effective against eldar.
The scarabs simply outnumber, swarm, and put on a lot of hurt (for a cheap price).
The Wraiths are kind of funny because they cleave through eldar, including non avatar HQ (their strength is double their toughness so you get an instakill there).
I would target the longer ranged stuff until the wraithlord gets out in the open. Once you can easily shoot the wraithlord I would target him till he dies. Massed fire is probably the best solution to the wraithlord.
Can you not fit the Veil of Darkness in there? That could make your Immortals much more lethal if you can use it right...
probably his best hope vs the lith, appart from maybe HQ, as someone said, take it down fast, destroyers may do nicelyWraithlord- bright lance and Rocket Lunchermax squad size is 10, shoot them with warriors, if possible DS your lith into the middle of them3 squads of Dire advengers, belive 12 in each groupReapers? guaridan platform? rangers/pathfinders?1 longrange unitso one avatar, one autarch, one farseer and one pheonix lord?1 of each of there HQ, 1 keept casting guide on the the dam lord
Clearly he had a farseer, watch out for singing spear vs lith but generally easy enough to kill, what was other HQ?
1 group of Haloquines, 1 shadowseer in there
mocility is key, either DS the lith or use those destroyers againas someone said, absirdly slow/short ranged, just shoot emand 1 group of fire Dragons off the top of my head
Everything you have been told is a lie!
yea the long range was reapers, and they had some kinda leader in that squad, i was gonna try to take them out with my destroyers first that way i can have the longer ranges agains his units.... Lord will probly take a few turns to get into range, not to mention my warriors rolled 666 against it last time, then he faid with 3 1s lol.
but remember, use the destroyers jetbike rules to your advantage because thos dark reapers have killer range and great weapons that will deny your saves...
Do NOT let him get shots off first or you're runnin high risks.
use terrain to block LOS till you have the chance to move your move and unload on the reapers.
