Welcome to Librarium Online!
Currently working hard to get a legit army since It turned out I win most of my games and I am anxious to see how I perform against armies other then blood angels and sisters.
A few things that bother me is:
The metal Ravener models only come with the ST's but I always deploy them with rending. how do I give these puppies claws ?
Secondly my warriors are a big issue of doubt.
I asked this in my other thread but i didn't get much info
anyway: leaping or wings ?
ST+RC or ST+Devourers ?
They way I calculated it:
if I have first move with wings my warriors can shoot for certain and if my enemy moved 6 inch, I'll have a charge. with leaping the same story
on a 4*6 ft table the results are the same after 2 turns. only difference is that a leaping, devourer armed warrior brood will not be certain of a shot in the first turn
so I'll have 2 shooting phases and an assault after 2 turns in each case.
Imho I think ST + RC and wings will be best. bit pricey but I think it will go on hard. now then for those claws. how do I get them ? the warrior sprue only has one set. where do I get them, cheap ?

Assault based warriors ought to have scything talons, rending claws, leaping and extended carapaces minimum. You take leaping over wings because of the extra distance allowed for models in the back. Re-read that section to understand what I am talking about.
You take wings for devourer based warriors. Though rarely will you see devourers without barbed stranglers. Just like deathspitters are usually seen with venom cannons.
As far as rending claws go for you raveners, you'll have to use rending claws from the warrior sprue. Or if some of your genestealers got mutilated you could take some from there.

Games Workshop Online Store — Death Leaper Claw Sprue
Games Workshop Online Store — Lictor Arms
Games Workshop Online Store — Broodlord Arms
Games Workshop Online Store — Tyranid Monstrous Arms Sprue
Out of this lot you can pick the cheapest or the ones you like the best.
Think I'll order a pack 'o genestealers and warriors together with my new tyrant.
the genestealers I currently have are from the battle of Macragge or similair and they have the rending claws but on one piece so I'll think I'll cut those in 2 for claws and use the talons from the warrior box.
thanks for the help

The winged vs leaping warriors issue falls into a lot of categories among we nid players.
We're odd in that we're perhaps the only faction where even the most bizarre and esoteric builds has its proponent.
I'm a fan of the notoriously flimsy rending winged warriors, for one.
I know someone who's a fan of the army of spine-warriors (buttloads of cheap synapse).
Some like the shooty barbed/devourer warriors with wings.
Here's the fundemental trade off between the two (that extra distance in assault for leaping not withstanding).
Winged gives you more mobility. (12+6inch assault)
Leaping gets you in assault faster. (6+12 inch assault) Unless I'm misreading the codex, or the beasts rules, which are both possibilities.
The dakka tyrant is indeed mighty, but he's less effective in close combat then the Winged Cuissinarte with its 2 Scything Talons, Toxic Miasma, Warp Field, Flesh Hooks and other assorted goodies.
I do generally see bigger armies fielding both flavors of tyrants, usually a gropos shooty one with tyrant guard, and the airborne pain-bringer. Coupled with a few carnifi, genestealers and the lowly gaunt and your enemy (whoever he is) will not have a happy time with you (more tyrants = more 'hard' synaptic support).
