Mega armor is great for a nobz mob and boss mounted up in a truk or Battlewagon, mainly in a KOS force...I use eavy armor in my foot sloggers army because mega armor just slows me down to much. I do not use enough truks and fast stuff to keep my boss truk from getting popped in every game, so a walking mob in mega armor doesn't do it for me.

Yeah, it's a toss-up in my opinion and as Hakbash says depends on your tactics and goal. My mega-armored boss is a killing machine: He'll routinely carve up a couple dreadnoughts and a tank or two in a single game. OTOH, if his ride gets popped too soon it can be a long and slow march across the battlefield. A 'eavy armored boss with a good size retinue or as part of a big mob can use a lot of boyz as ablative armor.

My problem is that I like giving my boss a PK and if you calculate out the point costs, it's virtually the same cost to buy the mega-armor (which includes a shoota and a PK), than it is to buy a PK plus 'eavy armor. If orks had a power weapon option (you can't give a boss a burna) I wouldn't bother with the PK, but as the rules stand I like having the PK to take out maxed out ICs, etc. (there's nothing like watching an opponent wince as I hit his 3 wound, 150 pt HQ and kill him instantly.

Another good thing is if you get a bionik bonce you get a better save and don't lose any mobility

    'Eavy Armour is for:

    'Ard Boyz (obviously)
Foot Slogger Ork Army bosses and retinues
    Nobz in CC units
Weird Orks : Mad Doks, Mek Boyz etc...

    Mega Armour is for:

    Bosses and retinues in Battlewagons
Nobz in units of shoota boyz etc...

So said Nazdreg and for that I am thankful.
