Welcome to Librarium Online!
Its taken 12 months. 3 pots of ice blue paint. 2 pots of warlock purple and 3 tins of primer. I dont even want to think of how much money! But finally my very first 40k army is completed. Ill probably add a few more bits here and there as i go along but for now, the birthing vats are stilled, and the hive fleet hibernates as it passes through space, ready to devour the first planet (or craftworld) it comes into contact with.
Its been hard! Ive got stressed, sickened and almost quit twice! But its also been fun and rewarding. Ive learned alot on this journey and hope my next projects (eldar and pre heresy) will be equally as challenging.
Buggyfex also makes his debut revealing here! Finished at last! (ok, ive one or two bits on the base to do but give me a break!)
So, without further ado, here it is, hive fleet wyvern.
1 Flyrant, 1 broodlord, 4 warriors, 1 lictor, 1 devilfex, 1 red terror, 20 genestealers, 20 hormagaunts, 10 termagaunts, 24 spinegaunts, 3 ripper swarms, 2 sniperfex's, 2 zoanthropes, 2 biovores, 6 spore mines, 3 raveners, 15 gargoyles and of course, 1 Buggyfex.
And now buggyfex!
Wow! Congrats! :w00t:
I <3 Buggy fex.
Oh, and I like the choice to use the old HT model for the flyrant.
The colour scheme is an interesting one as well, certainly gives an alien horde feel to it, any particular inspiration for it?

Mace, I remember you building this army, and I have to say, it looks good. You've done what alot of people actually cannot do; stick to and army and nurture it all the way through. LOL. Good job mate. Heres a point of rep, least I can do.

Awsome ! i have to say i love the striking colour scheme!, i use liche purple for the plates on my nids too, it really helps Define the models and makes them stand out
And i agree...i love the way you used the old Hivetyrant for the flyrant model, it suits the the Flyrant so so so much more!
Army of the heavens, my army waits in hell
To battle on the earth, for all the souls who fell
Cool, good to see your swarm complete and ready to eat everything in it's path. Buggyfex looks good too, glad to see he is ready. Your whole swarm looks great. finishing armies is always hard, but you have done it. Hooray!
Thanks for the kind words guys. Seeing my nids through to the end has really been an up hill struggle! Im sick to death of repeating the same colours over and over and i nearly quit when i was faced with yet another 20 gaunts to wade through!
My advice to anyone in the same boat is simple. Stop! Go grab some cheap eldar or marines from ebay and use totally different colours on them. The break is so refreshing and the different lines and dimensions of the models can really help sort your head out!
That tyrant was a tough call! I loved the new version but always thought that he looked a little heavy to be flying around the battlefield, so i went with the old and im really glad i did! He's actually the first large model ive ever painted so is pretty important to me. Im glad you guys like him
