Just wanted to know if its correct that a nightbrings gets X attacks at ST X APX with a range of X inches?

Unfortunately, I think you may be confusing close combat attacks with his ranged weapons. Might wanna check the BGB for clarification.
Ah ha,well,i ask the question because my eldar played a Necron army today and the guy used the 5 attack i posted above with a range of 24 inches...so he couldn't do that?
I assume 'nightbrings' is the nightbringer and not something I haven't heard of?
The nightbringer has one shooting attack that's similar in stats to a lascannon (but with shorter range). He can also do an attack using an ordnance template, but it is centered on him and doesn't scatter. Everythign else he does is just in combat.
(and just to state as clearly as possible- the shooting attack is one shot once per turn)
