Has anyone yet noticed the rare inclusion of Dark Eldar into a White Dwarf Tactica article?
It’s with amusement that I read the "Tools of the Trade" columns with reference to -
“These upgrades will give you more light firepower to scythe through infantry” –
And goes on to list the Horrorfex. I suppose they have forgotten the Disintegrator here, as it is the best infantry-thinning weapon we have. And as the Horrorfex will not in itself scythe anything down it could be a bit just a tad misplaced here.
And further with the next column headed with
“These upgrades will help protect you transport vehicle from the salvoes of enemy fire whilst it drops off your rapid fire or assault troops”-
And goes on to list scaling nets and screaming jets with no mention anywhere of Nightshields!
Nightshields will definitely protect you from fire by subtracting 6” from the distance the enemy can fire but how in the world are screaming jets going to protect you from this!
Does anyone at Games Workshop really edit all thus advice?
In a controversy the instant we feel anger we have already ceased striving for the truth, and have begun striving for ourselves.
Apparently not. That is one of the main reasons why I have stopped buying WD, anyway. WD has been turned into a less than mediocre marketing brochure instead of a focussed magazine which cover interesting battle reports, tactica and the like.Does anyone at Games Workshop really edit all thus advice?

The only reason i ever read WD is for the battle reports which sometimes arnt worth reading anyways.
Meh. Our white dwarf articles are always like that. I've said it a hundred times, GW doesn't have a single good DE player on their whole team. What they really need is to let someone like ollieb have a battle report in there instead of the typical WD guy getting stomped by whatever. Let an actual dark eldar veteran put up a dark eldar tactica there, not some pathetic little list of things that struck the guy's eye as he was skimming the DE codex for the first time. Basically, just forget white dwarf, it's an awful magazine which is used for nothing but to advertise. The tactica articles suck, the conversion articles suck, the battle reports are the worst part and that leaves just the ads.

The first time I read this one I wondered if they were just blatantly making fun of DE. Then I read again. They were just a little misplaced, and offering bad advice all around. I then look at what little DE are on the GW site, and realize why the advice is bad. They really do need a veteran DE player in there, not the standard whipping boy.
