No, no we can't. The Imperial Guard own us Eldar.
You play eldar and everyone will cry cheese at you even while they're beating your army into a bloody pulp every game.
Having said that though, we're fast, no-one else will match us for speed. We are also tough, no-one cept necrons will match us in resilience.
Also we have guns, no-one will match a war walker in a firefight.
Also we have melee, no-one beats a harlequin in close combat, no-one.
However we have something called bad luck, its a well known fact that when you play a cheesy eldar army you're opponent will roll nothing but 6's on the vehicle damage chart and you will roll nothing but 1's for armour saves.
Check out my Codex: Farmyard Animals here!
If anyone wants any kind of help writing fluff for any kind of GW army just ask.
All that being said, Harlequins have their uses, being about as effective as Genestealers used right, when they are themselves used right.
Anyway, I agree with your point, that Eldar have alot to offer.
Convincing you to play Eldar.
Do you like a lot of flash, flare, movement, and powerful weapons?
Thats eldar for you. Okay, so we really can't shoot for our lives, but we still have big guns.
And yes, I hate that everyone screams "Eldar Cheese" everytime you field an army. I could field 1800 points of Guardians with Brightlances or Scatterlasers and still get screamed cheese at.
Eldar Wonderfully Powerful Units
Wave Serpent (Troop Transport with relatively cheap Twin-Linked big guns and decent armor)
Vypers (cheap, big guns, fast, run in squads)
Prism Cannon (BS4, S9 with 60' range and blast. Nuff said)
Dire Avengers (much better now)
Wraithlord (not as good as use to be, but two weapons makes up for the wraithsight)
Pretty much the Entire Elite section
The only problem most eldar players have when getting into the game is they want to take 1 of everything. Not a good idea as you will get slammed, hard.

I once saw a guy at my club field 3 wraithlords and an avatar in a 2000 pt game. They nearly threw him out of the store. But nobody frikin complains when some nid players brings in 6 carnifex's and 2 tyrants with wings. Yeah, I think a nidzilla army is cheesy. That is definitely not the tyranids. Eight MC's...... give me a break.
Eldar if examined is not cheesy. Even when they are 3 wraithlords plus an avatar.
But three wraithlords and an avatar is perfectly legal rules wise. Especially if he is playing particular craftworlds.
