Welcome to Librarium Online!
How come the striking scorpions only have 1 attack? They've got pistols, chainswords and mandiblasters, thats atleast 3 attacks and then they are really good with the swords so maybe more... so what is up with the one attack?
Balance reasons, 5 attacks per model is insane on non-HQ's. It would also render banshees useless. Of course you could increase its points cost but then they become out-of-sync with the banshees and dragons, its nice having all 3 the same cost doing different roles.
Besides, scorpions have a huge number of attacks anyway that only harlequins can match.
EDIT: I may have misunderstood you, that 1 attack is their base attack. They do get bonuses for their weapons, mandiblasters and charging still.
scorpions only have one attack, just like banshees and all the other aspects!!!
that is stupid, they should have more then 1!!! what is the point of them? why not just take a guardian squad outfitted for CC?
Ah, think you have to read the rulebook mate.
Scorpions have their base attack, plus an extra attack for their 2 weapons and another attack for their mandiblasters. They can get as many as four attacks (no guardians gonna do that and even banshees only get 3 each maximum).
You take scorpions instead of storm guardians because scorpions can infiltrate, they have heavier armour, they have higher stats and can get a power fist.
It's hard to convey meaning on the internet,, are you interpreting it as scorpions only get 1 attack each despite their 2 weapons and mandiblasters? sorry I'm tired at the moment.
ya so i got the codex, and under the scorpion entry in the Army List it says:
and the exarch gets 2
where does it talk about those extra attacks...
i really don't like the eldar codex, there isn't a place, like a page or two, that has every weapon and equiptment with its stats like in the tau book!
In the main 40k rulebook it has the bonuses for holding multiple close combat weapons and/or pistols.
The rulebook also lists the extra attacks for charging.
The codex in the scorpion entry explains what mandiblasters do.
So no that 1 attack isn't what they fight with. They fight with 1 attack plus the bonus for mandiblasters plus the bonus for 2 weapons and plus any bonuses for charging.
It's in the main rulebook mate, not the eldar codex.
also, a big thing about the scorps, besides number of attacks, is their strength. Having St. 4 (effective) is great for Eldar.

Eldar: 25,000 pts
as others have said, a models stat line gives its basic number of attacks, you need to read the rulebook for other stuff, but specifically here:
read the codex eldar entry for mandiblasters, read the the rule book entry on additional CCW, read the rule book entry on charging, all of these modify that basic stat line.
