Welcome to Librarium Online!
Alright who else here is secretly laughing?
I have seen so many people getting excited about super heavies and all the tanks they're going to use in apocalypse, and all the while I've been secretly resisting the urge to simply state how any of our units can and effectively rip open his 500 point baneblade with relative ease.8X
In apocalypse I will always be fielding large amounts of scarabs with Dfields, warriors, destroyers and the like?
After all, who would field pylons when you can have a gauss flayer

Necrons are indeed going to be very, very powerful on the Apocalypse table. I fear playing them in large games. Phase out won't be a problem, their Gauss weaponry will smash the large tanks. Gonna have to work around them carefully !
I know I woouldn't use a pylon unless I had one sitting around. It looks like it'll be fun, but there's no way I'm buying one.
Yeah i feel sorry for all the IG players out there who are gonna get their precious big tanks blown up by the same things we use in normal games.

If I had another 1500 points in necrons would I play... If I had the money go buy the models I would play. If I had the time to assemble and paint all the models I'd play. If I wasn't in college I'd play. If I could get off my lazy bum (I look like the linux penguin...) I'd play. If I knew that all my friends would play, I'd play.
Sorry but the lovely tanks won't succumb to my gauss... Since I won't be playing. I'm not against it, I just well, you should have already read the reasons...

Actually we may not have such an easy time against super heavies...
Easier than most armies probably, but supposedly the new super-heavy damage table works out all damage on the one table, but glancing hits have a -2 to the roll and vehicle stunning or immobilising only affects a single weapon or reduces movement by D3". Unless you want to spend a lot of time building up damage we'll need heavy destroyers for a chance to penetrate and do major damage.
Ah, but results 4,5,6 all result in vehicle destroyed (obviously 5 and 6 aremore spectacular deaths) and seeing as any of our units which can chuck out 9 shots (destroyers, warriors, immortals) will get one glancing hit on the Baneblade, 6 units will on average make a vehicle destroyed result.
Have you seen the new table? If so, please elaborate, if not, I'm not sure I'd trust your assumptions.
Merging the tables does not mean taking the penetrating hits table as is- in fact, I can guarantee they haven't. Where in current rules you can get a 'vehicle stunned / shaken' and prevent all weapons firing, in Apocalypse that will only affect one weapon. Possibly the best a 6 can do from a glancing hit is to destroy 1 weapon (and any 'Primary Weapons' have a special save against being destroyed too).
I think it'll take a lot of glancing gauss hits to take a vehicle out of action- shots which are probably better used in thinning the enormous numbers of enemy troops/ regular vehicles. Heavy destroyers will have found their place in Apocalypse.
but when you have a full squad of destroyers shooting into a baneblede you can pretty much guarantee something fun is going to happen.
even without apocalypse i smash my freinds super heavy up like tin foil. enough green lazery death and Ka-POW! 500+ points down the drain. and with that 2 monoliths in a box...
