Welcome to Librarium Online!
I was musing on the possibility of fielding a farseer with a warlock retinue, though I'm not very sure on what kind of role it should have in the army.
Simple support seems a waste, as they cost a potload of points, so I was more inclined towards an active role.
Idea would be
1 enhance with spear
1 embolden with spear
8 with destructor and blade
Farseer with either mindwar or eldritch storm and a blade (maybe stones and doom or fortune)
Have them zoom away in a serpent, disembark, release their load of fire and then charge into hand to hand, with the possibility of usinf doom or fortune from the subsequent turn.
(BTW, can a farseer use support powers if locked in HtH? I think not, but I'm not that sure and the BRB is hidden somewhere amongst the huge pile of stuff near my bed... )
What do you guys think?
- Just love that maki! -
Nothing saying that the farseer cant use his powers in close combat as his powers are used at the start of the eldar turn, not the shooting phase like alot of powers.
They are a huge points dump so they are only limited to large battles, but are great as they can be tooled for almost any role from AT - singing spears, to horde control - Destructor.
Remember that not every warlock has to have a power, I generally run a squad of 5, 2 with destructor, 1 enhance and two naked with singing spears (naked as in no powers er not naked as in naked.... but it is an idea)
What once was courage has now cursed in the wars we've made.
We are the sinners, before our graves.
I prefer them on bikes these days. You don't have to wait for a turn before disembarking and assaulting, and the models always have the mobility. They're more resilient to boot.
Having an army and not owning a rulebook is like owning a car with no steering wheel.Originally Posted by amishcellphone
I have played several games against a very skilled mech tau player and he has yet to take the squad out of scoring. This is after having him pour several rounds of missles, devil fish and hammerheads to no avail. He made the comment that they are like fighting crons with a WBB roll. They are expensive on the surface but when you factor in the rerolled saves, it almost is like having two for the price of one.
