The Q&A for the new Ork codex, to be released in January of 2008.
Well, here it is. I have seen the new Ork codex and there are quite a few interesting, but balancing changes. I've taken the liberty of starting this thread to answer any questions you Ork players out there might have. Post your questions here and I'll try to answer in a timely fashion!
Please, keep your questions based on the Ork codex, not if I know how to get you the rules, etc. Also, keep in mind that I will not be sharing stats, points costs, or too specific rules. I can give you general ideas, but that's all!
Example of a legal question: "Are Weirdboyz in the codex?"
Example of an illegal question: "What are the stats of the Warboss?"
Also, please let me answer the questions in this thread. Too many people answering and it's hard to keep up with, so only ask here! Thanks.
So, have at it!
Tell me about the new flash gitz. How effective are their snazzguns (sp?) looking?
Are trukks going to be more resilient?
How has the battlewagon changed?
The ork bikers look sweet, are the rules just as cool?
Is it true that Storm boyz get a constant fleet-esque move?
Have mekboyz and big meks retained kustom force fields?
Is it true painboyz confer their squad feel no pain instead of rolling to bet back up like in the old codex?
Lot of questions...I hope none of them are illegal.
They are, however, much more expensive. Their expense is balanced by the fact that, should the dice gods favor you, they are a very deadly unit. It's about the same. Are trukks going to be more resilient? It has become slightly more resilient, though it retains many of the same options. The only other big change is that you can choose to take a big weapon that is similar to a Battlecannon. It's also a bit cheaper. How has the battlewagon changed?Oh, yes. They have CC prowess, survivability, and a pretty sweet weapon mounted on the bike. Also, they aren't overpriced one bit. I think Warbikes will be getting a lot of usage in this codex. The ork bikers look sweet, are the rules just as cool?Basically yes, though it does have some drawbacks. Is it true that Storm boyz get a constant fleet-esque move?Bigmeks have the option - Mekboyz are left without it.Have mekboyz and big meks retained kustom force fields? This would be a fact, the ability from the old codex isn't included. Is it true painboyz confer their squad feel no pain instead of rolling to bet back up like in the old codex?
Do Dreads and Kans still have the ability to be shooty if they want?
Are there different types of warboss? Like space marines get two types of commanders.
Should warbike models still have TL big shootas on them or does this no longer represent their guns?
Total 40k: >5000pts
total WFB: ~2000pts
I also enjoy good music, fine food, late night strolls on the beach and dancing in moonkin form :)
There is only one Warboss entry, but he has a relatively decent variety of options. Are there different types of warboss? Like space marines get two types of commanders.T-L Big Shootas could represent their guns rather well.Should warbike models still have TL big shootas on them or does this no longer represent their guns?
Are big gunz batterys still effective?
Are Gretchin squads still useful?

Gotta say, I was suprised how much more they could do with the boosted S on the charge. Are Gretchin squads still useful?
Blais's Paint Studio-Getting broken armies good soft scores since 2009
How many of the special ork characters make an appearence in the new codex and are they all HQ choices like in the other new codecies coming out?
