I am new to the game and I was wondering if it is possible to field 'Stealers as the only troop choice. I know the point cost is high but they are just so stinking amazing in CC. I have only played one game with my 'Nids. I only fielded one squad of 12 and it attracted so much attention, it was great. They lasted four turns, absorbed fire (due to cover), and knowcked out a possessed squad and part of a termie squad. I am wondering if it was a fluke...
Yes it's possible. They are a common choice in nidzilla lists and some people even use only stealers in their lists. There are also fast attack lists that use stealers. The main thing that you have to wory about is that they are expensive and you have to find a way to keep the list balanced. They work well in armies though.

I personally take 25 point ones, EC, ST, and Flesh hooks.
But I also like to take a few Termies and Hormies, just for bulk.
Genestealers are very good. I think the reason they are a popular troop choice for Nidzilla swarms is that the monstrous creatures are always an opponents main concern. This means the Genestealers are often left alone as all the guns are being pointed at the Hive tyrants and Carnifexes. Genestealers can still be very good in other swarms though. Enemies like Chaos marines will find them hard to handle as Chaos tend to take loads of big nasty assault types who will be slaughtered if they attack a large number of Genestealers.
I think if you want to use lots of Genestealers you should consider what you won't have. You won't have Gaunts of varying types to shoot people and you won't have Hormagaunts to race up really quickly to assault. You also won't have Ripper swarms to soak up enemy fire and tie up nasty units in assault.
Try to think of how Genestealers can do these things or compensate for thier loss. Use various biomorphs to do it. Extended carapace will make you Genestealers last longer which will in a way replicate the ability of Spinegaunts and Rippers to absorb damage. You can give the Genestealers scuttlers to send them up quickly (6 + D6 move), this will be added to thier normal move and replicates the Hormagaunts speedy attack.
The Genestealers of course won't carry out what these other critters do perfectly. However Genestealers will need less synapse control as they have brood telepathy. This can help out to provide you with more points to spend on various biomorphs for the Genestealers and just more Genestealers. I think it will always be a good idea to know what you are doing with your Genestealers and try to make plans that allow them to work together.
Err, scuttlers only gives them scout, they already have fleet.
Scout means they get a free movement phase, nothing else.
That'd be awesome, possible second (or maybe first with lucky rolling) turn charge.
