Welcome to Librarium Online!
did any ofyou considered using alternative minis than the gw ones, (reapers, ...)
and may i ask which one did you took for which role / character ?
Got a "good" rumour from a GW staffer? Forget about it, LO'ers know more than any random GW shop staffer.

Another good one are the Dark Elf (Fantasy Warhammer) Witch Elves, as Wych Substititues. Their Queen/Lord Elf is a good fit as our Lord as well.
As HeZu said, Eldar are great, I personally love the Harlequin models. Death Jesters are my Dark Lance toting Warriors, Harlequins are my Syrabites, specially painted Troupe Leaders and Shadowseers as Haemonculi.
For a Talos, as I mentioned in an earlier post, I was planning to convert a bondaged Avatar. Another idea is to use a scratch-built, serpentine Carnifex I created for my Tyranid army. With some metal parts and a DE rider, there's another Talos.
By using the chassis of the Defiler and its two scorpion claw arms, there's another Talos, if you have a spare one lying around.
Eldar Vypers can make a great Jetbike for a Lord (its bigger and fancier than a Reaver, fitting for the DE leader). With a little spike conversion, Eldar jetbikes can be made into Dark Eldar as well.
I've been considering dabbling into the Warhammer Vampire Range for more ghastly figures to use as grotesques. Tomb Kings are another place to look.
As for vehicles, I think good old Raiders are our best bet. Ravagers can be made from Raiders as well. Unless you're like me, and when you have a shortage of these babies, you revert to good old foamboard. *wink*
In my army I have used all different models. Atm I am looking at doing something with Dire Avengers to make some new Warrior Squads.
For things like Grotesques I have Eldar Guardians and Dark Eldar Warriors mixed with parts from the Zombie sprues.
I have also converted up Jain Za as a Wych Lord and Maugan Ra as a Dark Eldar lord.
I have also found that Dark Elves are a nice range to draw from and have used some of the Beastmaster apprentices and other bits from Dark Elf stuff to make Sybarites. Another model I have converted used Maleus Darkblade which I have mounted on a jetbike...
There are a lot of options there... Just look at all the different Elven ranges from Warhammer and the Eldar range and you will find there is so much scope.
I think he meant using minis from a company other than GW, like Reaper Minis (what he meant by Reaper IMO). If not then this topic is identical to the "convert or standard" type thread just bellow but even if so probably should have been posted there. Anyway, some other companies (like Reaper for example) do have some very cool minis that would be very appropriate for dark eldar, esspecially lords. I however haven't personally used any because you wouldn't be able to use them at all at GW stores and whatnot, which is where I often play but they remain a very viable alternative if you play in a club or with friends etc which allow minis from other companies.

I'm working on using the death jester as a base model for my punisher archon conversion.
I too cannot stray far from the GW model range as I play 95% of my games at a GW store and I have seen wonderfully painted fantasy models been asked to not return to the store - our store is frequented by a regional manager with an english accent (here in california) and although the game wasn't interrupted - it was made know after to not use another companies models in a GW store.
If you are playing at a hobby store or friends house no worries! ;Y
I pay 90% at my LGS, so I'm also with the GW crowd.
Heres an idea, thats slightly off topic, but I'm sure its fine to mention.
What about using those uber cool Eldar Farseer models as Dracons and Archons (IMO of course), I could just paint them dark colors and add some spikes, right? I love those models.
