hey all i ma sort of a noob and am looking and have been aterracted to dark eldar because of the incubi. i was just wondering in a friendly game of like 500 popint do think i could field all incubi with a drachon and like a ravenger or would i have to use warriors to cause the warrior models are really out dated
And welcome to the boards. In a friendly game you can field what ever you like but just expect your opponent to do the same - just call it mini-apocalypse.
But in a Standard Mission you will need to field at least 2 troop choices to comply with the Rules. Incubi are somewhat expensive and are intended to compliment an existing force, not be that force.
Warriors will never go amiss and I would venture to say that you can never have enough of them - something that could never be levelled at Incubi I am afraid.
I agree they look cool, have great stats but they are slow compared to the rest of the army (no fleet), cost a lot of points and in large groups run the risk of being too effective, that is to say you really should win combat in your opponents turn and not yours to avoid being shot to bits by return fire.
Incubi work well against power armour because of their power weapons ignoring the armour saves but fall foul to swarm armies like Tyrannids or Orks, in other words you have to pick their targets to get the full value out of them, hence why I say they compliment other unit choices well.
But they are probaly just what you need to battle your friends Ultramarines!
In a controversy the instant we feel anger we have already ceased striving for the truth, and have begun striving for ourselves.
k well how about if i used some dark elf bodys and spears for warrior and or use incubi with out cloaks for warriors and use the ones that are with vect as incubi and then convert my lord for a incubi look cause i want my army to have like a incubi dojo feel.also a talos wouldnt hurt cause arhra a.k.a the dark father creator of the incubi was first a striking scorpian and the talos is scorpian like. o and i play mostly tau ,world eater, emperors children nad some times eldar

As long as you're prepared to dole out that much money for buying and that much time for converting, I don't see why it shouldn't be possible.
well i am thinking that its probly better just to convert the dark elf warriors to look like incubi traineens cause i already have them and then just get a archon incubi and a talos. but one question would you guys use incubi with blasters or shredders or just stick with the regular punishers and let the warriors do the blasting as the HQ ride up to get in to CC
Incubi should be left to their Punishers, let the sniper squads and the other millions of cheap dark lances and blasters do the ranged MEQ slaughter.
A warning: don't deck out too many Incubi at once. I wouldn't even take any if you're playing a kitted out Archon. A cheap Dracon is the only one who should have a SMALL Incubi retinue.
well i really want incubi since they are the coolest unit DE have and they are the reason why i want DE. As for my lord it will probly be a drachon. alos what do you think i should do with my lord cause i wanted to make him kined of like an incubi cause it would go with my theme. i was thinking of maybe try to make arhra the dark father having a striking scorpion exarch claw but instead its a mutated scorpion claw with a unquie punisher so what do you think
