Has anyone got one of these?
Thinking of picking one up as an xmas pressie from the kids so was wondering what it is like?
Do you only get the weapons to make him or do you get others? Thinking of using him to represent my HQ so might do a bit of a weapons jig about. decided to have an 'O in my list with a sheild gen after a game on friday were my 'O survived 3 turns against a squad of assualt termies. he took out 4 of the 5 termies but got caught out in the last turn!
also thinking of getting one of the FW broadsides to act as my BASS team leader. anyone got one of those?
i own a Shas'O R'Myr model. it's just as you see it on the picture, nothing more, nothing less. He has no other weapons you can put onto him. His shoulders are used for some extra bits so you can't put the round shield disk onto it or you must represent the array bits that the model has on the back as the shield emitter.
I also have several XV-88-2's ( not assembled yet). if you have questions on those i might be able to answer them.
I too have R'myr. Lovely model, and the special double-barrelled plasma rifle could be representing a TLPR, but you are better playing him as himself since the left arm is taken up by the Shield Generator.
I've used him in a few battles, but I bought him mainly because I loved the model.
"Tau Commandment #226: Participants who use Velocity Trackers in the Tau Clay Pigeon Tournament will be disqualified"
im thinking of including one in any list over 1500 points along side my usual 'El HQ.
so i was thinking of using R'myr to represent him....maybe i could leave off the special plasma rifle and slap in on one of my burning eyes (Team leader maybe?) and then hook R'myr up with a nice Helios config and his sheild?
I actually got myself a Shas'O R'myr a while back - I was converting him to be my commander.
If I recall correctly, you get the standard crisis sprue (including all weapons - just like what you'd get in a crisis box) AND you get the resin components to make R'myr.
Resin Bits: Head, shoulderpads, arms, weapon, shield, legs, do-hickies that go on the rear hardpoints of the suit.
Incidentally, it IS possible to use the standard crisis arms with R'myr - If you cut the standard crisis arm at the elbow (keeping the round bit), drill a bit of a hole so it will fit to the R'myr arm, it all works nicely!
That doesn't make any sense written down. I don't have any pictures on me, either. Maybe, if I have time tonight, I'll get some shots of what I did. It might explain better than I can!
I make no promises, mind you...
Ask and ye shall receive!
As a note, all I really used for this was a hobby knife and a pin vice. I may have used files as well, but if you're good with the knife you may not need them.
These first two shots are the arm stuck together. The lighter bit is the resin component from Shas'O R'myr's suit, the darker bit is the standard plastic Crisis arm. Sorry about the second photo, it's a little blurry.
And these next two pictures are how the arm has been trimmed down in order to fit.
So there you go. Basically, the pin from the R'myr suit elbow goes into that hole I've gouged into the sliced-up arm. It's not an easy cut to make; I think I ended up just shearing the upper part of the Crisis arm off first, then trimming it down from there so I had the bit I wanted left.
Then you should be able to mount all your standard crisis weapons, with the best bit being if you ever want to use R'myr, you can (provided you haven't glued the elbow) swap his original arm back on. At least, I presume you could, seeing as you haven't modified the resin components at all.
