Does anyone have any info as to why N'dras was evacuated? I have selected this Sept as the origin for my Cadre (as welll as BFG and AI)... and im just wondering about any background that may effect the composition of my army....
If no existing fluff indicates why the Sept was evacuated id like to open the floor as to likely reasons as to the evacuation... what could possibly force the Tau to evacuate?
Genestealer Cult infestation?
Warp Drive Experiment Gone Wrong?
What do you think?
Also, any ideas on the Sept Colour?
The Tau cannot by any means interact with the warp, that's why the empire is so small.
They have no souls, in essence.
I would be willing to bet that they will eventually come up with a technological way to do so so. Or even better, discover an entirely new way to travel fast enough to spread across the galaxy...
In fact, it would be neat if the warp eventually collapsed and stranded every other race, and then the Tau would have a huge advantage!!!!

Also, for the record, the Tau can and do utilize the warp for travel. Barring whatever technological sorcery is utilized by the Necrontyr, the Warp is the only faster-than-light travel option available, and the Tau do have FTL travel. It's just slower than everyone else's, cause they don't go into the warp and stay there. They skip into the warp very briefly, then come back out a little farther away than they could have gotten going light speed alone.
It's not great, but it's better than no warp travel at all.
Once again, the conservative, sandwich-heavy portfolio pays off for the hungry investor!
Well I haven't seen anything written anywhere that gives a reason but now that you're asking I am quite interested myself. Wouldn't have been an ork infestation as they would have nuked the planet to keep them from spreading. Also, same with nids. The possibilities I see is either some kind of ecological disaster possibly making the planet unlivable (although I am sure they could fix it with terraforming) or maybe they uncovered some kind of ancient thing that they realized was better left alone ... a sleeping ctan perhaps. Or possibly, something unknown about the planet makes the tau less tau like. They become more violent and untrustworthy. More apt to go away from the ideals of the greater good and more for personal gain. Like they got infected with a good dose of humanity! That kind of fits in with the brief description.
Perhaps if it was the second option, where there is something they are safeguarding due to its hazerdous nature, the army could be set up like a knights templar idea. In which case I would go some idealized knight like colors. Something like blue and silver, red and gold or something along those lines.
The third option I would go darker colors. Possibly black grey and a dark red. Something that makes them look like they are shady or more covert.
well my guess is as good as yours at this stage...
But for the benifit of others i will just state what is written in the codex with regards to this...This is one of those little things GW does, leaving gaping holes in its fluff for its players to fill in.For reasons unknown, this world was voluntarily abandoned by the tau nearly a century ago. The few remaining tau from n'dras are regarded as being untrustworthy and are generally of quicker temper and brooding countenance.
BOT; I think some rather horrible occurance, like a plague or civil war would be a suitable place to start. I would choose to go with a darker themed force, the good guys but a little bit sinister, representing their grusome and bloody past.
Colourwise, i would like to see a dark red with black. Sinister? yes...
Edit: just remembered about the 'conspiracy theories clan' on here somewhere, maybe you could see wat they have to say on it...
Just my two cents,
