    eldar fast attack choices

Hi I have just bought the Eldar codex

I have been planing my army and I wonted to get a feeling on what the general view is on how the diffrent Eldar fast attack choses stack up against each other. But also how they fit in to the over all army.

At present i am thing of a mix of both infantry and mech elements to my force

currently i have 10 dire avengers and 4 jetbikes

with by next buy being a farseer and a farseer on a jetbike.

Sorry if my question is a bit general by the way

Of the FA choices I like
    • Squadrons of Vipers with 2 Shuriken Cannon each and no other upgrades. Harrying fire at about 22" range and work them round to the flank and rear armour of vehicles.
    • 5 Shining spears preferably with the withdraw exarch. They make a good solid counter attack unit to mop up medium ability opponents. Keep them away from very strong opposition because if you don't achieve most of the damage on the first charge you suck on subsequent turns.
    • 6-10 Warp spiders with a hit & run Exarch with extra spinner and powerblades. Great firepower and manouverability. The power blades are just for insurance or to let you charge stragglers from the shiooting you just inflicted.
I'm not keen on Swooping hawks other than as a good way to deliver haywire grenades to Necron monoliths.

I agree with MadCat, though my favorite of those three are the Shining Spears with Withdraw.

Mad Cat is spot on with his comment. I like the shining spears squad, and usually run it with an autarch armed with a lance. That is a very hard hitting squad that has the speed to be where you need them.

Like everyone else, I completely agree with Mad Cat. my personal preference is the warp spiders though, a squad of 8 + the exarch as Mad Cat described has never let me down.

I agree with Madcat as well. My personal favorite way to run fast attack is to take the spiders. I haven't tried the spears yet, that is my next item to try, and the hawks aren't very good and I don't really trust vypers. ^^

My personal preferance is the spiders. I don't really like the hawks and the vypers are easily killed (A10 open topped=die on glance 4,5 or 6). I haven't ever used spears so I can't speak for their effectiveness, but spiders have never let me down.
