Welcome to Librarium Online!
For whatever reason, I was on the US Games-Workshop site, dropped in on the Necron Miniature range, and noticed a lack of Tomb Spyders. Am I missing something, or is it just some weird deal with the site?
Oh yeah, heres a link: http://us.games-workshop.com/games/4...og/default.htm
Probably just a mistake, they're in the store section:
I was under the impression (a good 6-8 months ago) that the mold for the TS had broken and that there was talk about discontinuing the model. All the more justification I have for this is that two hobby shops in Pittsburgh ran out of the model and were unable to order new ones from GW. I couldn't even order bits for the TS from the one place. At any rate, I have since seen the model back on the shelves, so I can only assume that the mold has been repaired.
A brief aside: Over Christmas, myself and a couple other buddies of mine chipped in and got a friend of ours a Baneblade. Well, one of the guys who chipped in is currently finishing his PhD in plastics and civil engineering at UMASS, so needless to say he was astounded at the quality of the model. Something that I had never thought of before was the amount of time and money that goes into creating the molds for not only the plastic models, but also the pewter ones. When you realize the cost it takes just to produce one model, and then take a look at the huge range of models GW provides, its quite staggering.
I know I've fallen off topic here, but I thought it might be interesting to see another perspective of the game. And speaking of which, do you know if the factory where the minis are produced is in the UK? I wonder if they do tours of the plant.
Have a good one!
It would seem that the online store page is utterly messed up as wraiths are listed as troops and tomb spiders as fast attack. <sarcasm>Unless, of course, this is a preview of things to come...</sarcasm>
When seeking the ultimate question remember 6*9==42 only in base 13.
Things like that plague GW's site all the time...
