Welcome to Librarium Online!
Ummm, yeah I just played my friend who plays eldar. It wasnt a serious battle, I was in a good mood so I just did what I wanted and would make the battle more fun. Anyway, I found that Barroth is really fu,cking gay. Sorry for my language but I just feel like I have to say it. This guy got 28 attacks, NO joke. Thats with a power weapon. This guy plus 4 swooping hawks(which hardly did nothing) killed, 24 spinegaunts, 3 RC ST warriors, plus a decked out CC Hive Tyrant. Not all in one turn, but in 3 or so. I am not making this up, he really killed this many guys. How do you guys deal with him? And again sorry for my language.
Simple: He is a special character, requires your permission, if he bothers you that much do not allow him to play with him.
As I have said before I am not a Tyranid player, but my buddy Mike used Rending rippers, to take him out. The mutation allows 1 per 6 wounds to have rending claws, and so every other ripper had rending claws, and all had leaping. Makes a bad day for Cheese Elf.
First off, you act like gay is a bad thing -- it's not.
Second -- It's really easy to deal with him by taking him out of the game. Special characters suck, except OOE and RT, simply because it's more realistic to have special biomorphs as opposed to actual people. Also, hit him with shooting. Swooping Hawks are generally difficult to deal with for nids. Baharroth simply is harder because of his CC abilities. Don't bitch about the abilities of other armies. Did you try changing your strategy and playing another game before coming here? Maybe it's just something you can't deal with using your current strategy. If that's the case, CHANGE YOUR *****ING STRATGY. Give your Tyrant wings, give some rippers rending claws like this guy's friend did. Think before you come here to whine.
man leave him alone. he is asking for advice, cant u even stay polite?Originally posted by InUoTaBeRu@Apr 4 2004, 23:39
Think before you come here to whine.
Marneus, dont agree to play with Special Chars. If you stil wanna let him play with SC, then kill him with every Venom Canon in game. Dont take a CC Tyrant vs this guy, thats where he's strongest. Avoid CC with this guy.
Technically he should not be able to kill a hive tyrant, as he needs 6+ to wound and against WS6 he won't get that many attacks.
Five attacks on the charge, 2.5 initial hits. Then 1.25 hits, then 0.625 and so on, resulting in a total 5 hits in average against a hive tyrant, which in average will make it lose 0.833 wounds. Not that dangerous...
Tyrant strikes back:
5 attacks, 2.5 hits, 2.08 wounds, implant attack, baharroth dead.
a couple of warpblasts should do the trick
Army of the heavens, my army waits in hell
To battle on the earth, for all the souls who fell
Oh, look at me! I'm too much of a pussy to just come out and say a swearword! Ooh! Dont I look so pretty wearing this womens underwear!
"It fits like clothes made out of wasps!"
Ehh...Phobos? What was that good for?
By the way, there is an alternative interpretation of sustained assault which somewhat reduces its efficiency.
It basically says that you roll to hit, then roll to hit for the extra attacks. But no matter how many extra attacks hit, you get only one extra-extra attack for that.
That's because the rule doesn't say "for each extra attack that hits you get an additional attack", but "if an extra attack hits", which can be interpreted as one or more.
Both interpretations are viable, but if your opponent is generally a rules lawyer (too), then you can present him this interpretation, and then it's up to him to prove that the more powerful version which he wants to use is the correct one. I'm quite sure that he won't be able to do this.
HOLY $HIT! i just read baharoth's special abilties and he could have infinite attacks...
he rolls his 4 attacks standard (you cant say he got 1 weapon....) and then he rolls again for every hit... does this mean:
4 hits 2 wounds 1 failed armour save
4 hits 1 wound 0 failed armour save
but this means 12 attacks!and it could keep going!
i know this very unlikey but could this happen? (maybe, 4,3,3,2,1...)
Am i right at this?
