Welcome to Librarium Online!
Most of you will know of my plans for a renegade Adeptus Mechanicus converted Necron army from my past Necron Warrior conversion post:
I’ve recently completed my renegade Techpriest to represent the Necron Lord.
However I don’t feel he’s ‘Necron’ looking enough so I thought of taking a Destroyer Lord and came up with this mock model.
Apart from critique on my Lord Conversions can you answer the following question…?
“In giving a Necron Lord a Destroyer body does it allow enemy units to target him when he’s within 12 of a friendly unit?”
As long as he isn't a Monsterous Creature he will still have to be the closest.
And I am loving this army.
So which Liberator (Necron Lord) do you prefer the destroyer or the one on foot?
Just to say again - there is no "within 12 inches" rule anymore. In 4th edition, an IC has to be the closest target to the enemy in order to be able to be targeted by shooting. He can still get assaulted as normal.
And personally, I prefer the one on foot.
Instead of starting another thread heres another question...
"Can Destroyer Lords join standard infrantry squads as it says 'he moves as if on a jetbike' not that he is mounted on one?"
it just I prefer the Destroyer Lord idea (shown above) I plan to add computer consoles where the vents are to show that he is really in control of this army of robots. That and I have a mate who is concerned about his converted destroyer lord's effectiveness as well.
We both use the same tactics keep him behind the warriors but if a few railguns or demolisher cannon pop up put him with the destroyers, its much more flexiable. Unfortually we can do this anymore cause he can be targeted seperately unless he can be attacted to a squad?
This has been asked before. Yes, Independent Characters can join any legal unit that they want, whether they are of the same unit type or not. However, units only move as slow as the slowest model in the unit, so if your D-Lord joined a unit of Warriors, he can only move 6".
I like the one on foot a lot more then the one with the destroyer body. The foot one definitely gives off the impression of 'mechanicus renegade'
