So I spend some time on the GW website looking at bits. I try to find bits that I could use for conversions. I've noticed for the past month that a lot of the bits pages have been disappearing. The other day a friend of mine told me about some SoB links acting funny and some models appearing that he had never seen before.
This prompted me to visit the nid section and things are looking a bit different. There's not much, but there's a few interesting things.
Main Nid Page
For starters they added rippers and spore mines as individual sales. The ripper models are variants I've never seen before. The spore mines look like a blister I picked up some time ago of all metal frag mines. I'm wondering if these are old 2nd/3rd ed models that GW is trying to get rid of.
Not much else to see except they made separate entries for the different models of things like Ravenars and Gargoyles.
This is more of a heads up and I apologize if this has already been covered in another subforum!

covered - GW pulled all bits support off the site and off thier ordering system. Instead they now sell blisters by code number (ie no more random blister content) and also only sell a select range of bits - look in the catalogue on the main store homepage.
As to the nids - rippers are spore mines were there (I missed them too) but they were hidden away under anther heading - there might still be some models missing (though I think all are up now). As for the raveners - I am not sure but I have never heard or seen a ravener blister come with a set of rending claws - yet they have one listed acording to the picture - yet to hear if the claws are in the blister

Got a "good" rumour from a GW staffer? Forget about it, LO'ers know more than any random GW shop staffer.

I noticed that the Ravener had some rending claws (which I thought were from genestealers), so I took the time to call and talk to Keith from GW direct services. He definitely was unsure and stated that the blister packs weren't changing, so made the statement that he didn't think the Ravener would actually have these rending claws. In an effert to find consistency, I contacted John Spencer, who is a customer service specialist at GW. Here's what he said:So it appears that Hive Commanders will still have to find creative ways to get rending claw bitz. Hopefully GW will release a "Tyranid Rending Claws" bitz pack. With this in mind...I have managed to view the packing sheets for the Raveners and the picture for Ravener 2 is in error. You do not get the claws shown with it, it has the same arms as Ravener 1.
I also took the time to make an inquiry regarding the bitz packs. I told John that I was aware that there were a few bitz packs out right now and that each White Dwarf will release 2-3 new packs. However, I figured with all the gaming systems to consider, I was thinking that it would take several years to release appropriate bitz packs for each army. I asked him if GW plans on accelerating the process (so for one month they would release 20 different bitz packs) or just keep with the current system. His response...One of the reasons why they were planning to redesign the way they do bitz was that a person from one country would go to another country's website and see a bitz item that they wanted. They'd then call the company and expect that the bitz would be available. For example, a person from the US would want to order an item that was out of stock in the Tennessee Warehouse, even though they could see the item available in the the UK. So, I also asked John if the new system would be on a global scale or still be dependent on the country you are in. His reply:Unfortunately, I do not know the answer to your first question. We do know they are working on more bitz packs, but we do not know any specifics about what is coming or when it will be released. We do know that this is a global change. Our goal is to have the exact same products (for the most part) available no matter what country you order from.
Finally Battlewagon Bitz, when working with the WarStore actually does international orders.
Their web-site says it can, when looking at international bubble packs. The War Store also offers a unique set of guidelines, when doing bitz orders through them.

The Death leaper is the coolest Lictor model they have ever made. Well worth getting one.
