I have a game coming up aginst a combined force army of Deamonhunters and Sisters of battle. He plans on fielding a Grandmaster as his Hq. 3 units of grey knight terminators, 3 units of 10 grey knights that teleport as a fast attack, and sisters in a chimera. Any advice on how to combat this? Im not sure what else that he has up his sleeve, Either way I plan to field a pure necron force.
use lots of destroyers and immortals, their higher T will help against bolters and the grey knights and sisters dont have any S10 weapons. also the higher strength guns of destroyers and immortals will easily kill all of them.;Y
I love my nuns with guns!
Make sure you keep away from him and use your 'Lith to move your squads of CC whenever he get in. A lot of Rapid Firing will take him down.

Pretty much what Diggums said, keep your troops out of CC and you should be fine
So... if I gave some daemons a matte paint-job, would they be "Matte Daemons?"

Have fun and good luck too!
A good friend of mine plays a very terminator-heavy Grey Knight force that has brought my Necrons to ruin every time. (Although my forces certainly didn't go down without a fight.) If you're planning on using the Veil/Immortal route, I would definitely consider taking a Res. Orb with you as well. Most people would advise against sinking the points into an Orb, but here's my rationale.
It's an insurance policy. I only have 8 Immortals...each one is very valuable to me. Case in point: A pootched veil/scatter dice lands you within movement and charge of one of the terminator units. Knowing Grey Knights, they all come with power/force weapons and will shred those poor immortals to bits if you don't have the Orb. The Orb will at least let a few of the Immortals (hopefully) stand back up and then get the heck outta Dodge!
However, if you don't plan to use your Immortals this way and they'll have a different target priority, it may not be as useful. But in the short answer, the time I take a Veil AND and Orb is when I know I'll be veiling around power weapons or MC's. It's a "just-in-case" they find themselves in CC, I want them to get their WBBs.
And that's what I have to say about that.
Deceiver > Grey Knights... just watch out for a lucky force weapon wound (still needs 6's to hurt you) by the grand master.
Thanks! I really appreciate the input everyone. Ill let you know how the battle goes.
Yikes! The bad news is all the Terminators. The good news is you'll outnumber him. You REALLY don't want to go hand to hand against those Nemisis Force Weapons. In my last game I was forced to speed bump a Grandmaster and three Terminators with Scarabs to give me some breathing room. They killed the Scarabs in two rounds of combat. I got lucky and killed one Terminator. Massed fire took out another (22 shots to kill one). The Deceiver was the difference maker. He killed two Termies easily, but you want to avoid base to base with the GM until the end, or he might get lucky with that force weapon. Use Misdirect to get out of combat with him. You can also take a shot with Decieve. If you get really lucky, you'll pin him and then get to go first in assault, instakilling the character. Otherwise, shoot him up. I think it took 50 odd gauss shots to take him out.
I've also found that Tomb Spyders can provide good support against Terminators if you're careful to use them as a counter-charge unit and try to take out one Termie at a time. Not a great option, though.
In this game, I'd also give the Lord a warscythe, also for combat support. The Deceiver is key, though. He's the only model that will make him nervous if he deep strikes the termies. He's even cheap compared to all of those potentially 60+ point Termies. Never thought I'd say that!
Finally, consider Heavy Destroyers. I'm eating up too many points with these suggestions, but three HDs could put a dent in those termies.
I play WH with the occasional GK Termie and I would say that the Deceiver v. the Grand Master is an epic battle. Against all his other termies you'll kick ass... BTW, Sisters can't ride a Chimera, so unless it's REALLY friendly make em stay in those beer can rhinos.
Hey, this linguine tastes a lot like spaghetti...
If you field the Deciever, bring a unit of Pariahs along. Not to charge the Termies, C'Tan forbid, but to make the Decievers abilities more effective agains all those high morale fearless Zealots and to add in more flexible 24" firepower.
Try generating as much armor save rolls by shooting as possible. Termies don't die from failed invul saves, they die from massed small weapons fire.
Not in my game you won't!!
