How should I fight against my friends jump pack horde list? It has few units of Assault Maries and Landspeeder if I remember right. We're talking about 500 point game. I would like to keep my army very mekhy but but... I can't beat him! Even with my Nurgle list I stand no chance against those mother ****ing Power Fists.
If your post was meant to confuse people, then you were successful, as I have a very slight clue in what you are talking about. You do know this is the Ork forum right?
My conclusion about what you are saying is that you have a Nurgle list with landspeeders? Or his ork list has landspeeders. OR you play both normal marines and nurgle, which both loose against his ORK jump pack horde list? Either that, or you meant to post this in another forum, because you are saying he has a space marine force and you have a nurgle / chaos force. OR you are saying that you play nurgle Orks?! I'd like to see that codex!
Furthermore, in a 500 points game, I dont know any legitimate way to have a few units of Assault Marines and a landspeeder, and be a horde army. Something is wrong right there. Unless you are playing by no HQ and 1 TROOPS manditory lists. which is only supposed to be played for 400pt games.
Also, even if bleeping yourself out, as much as it annoys me sometimes, there is no swearing on this forum. Meaning rules are rules, follow them please!
And last but not least, I want to give some sort of help. So I will decide you are saying the following:
"I Cannot beat my friends ork list. It is mostly jump packs and some trukks if I remember right. In this 500pt game, I have tried normal marines, and nurgle lists, but I still seem to lose. What should I do about these power fists? They own me really hard!"
To which I would respond,
"Posting in the space marine / Chaos Space Marine might also get you some better help, but since we know orks in this forum, here is ork info that might help ..." and then, presumably if I know a lot of Ork info, I would post it.
After posting said info, I would continue to type..
"For your Space Marine list, try inducting a Inquisitor and Vindicare Assassin. Using the allies rules, you can take an HQ inquisitor and an Elite Vindicare Assassin from either the Daemonhunters or Witch hunters codex's. For your nurgle, I have no idea, sorry."
Hopfully this helps. But I am most positive it wont, as your post is very confusing, and I probably misread it.
I think what he actually said was
'my friend plays jump pack and landspeeder heavy space marines (possible at 500pts with a blood angels list). I am finding it difficult to defeat him with not only my nurgle army, but also with my ork force. Can you help me make a decent ork list that can beat him, whilst retaining a mekboy-heavy theme?'
Or I could be totally wrong.
Anyway. in 500pts, orks can cram loads of stuff in, stuff that goes faster than jumppack marines! Load up on trukks and warbikes, perhaps take some lootas for dealing with landspeeders (he can't have that many in 500pts, i don't care what list he's using!). Remember that for every jump pack marine he has, you can have about 4 ork boyz. also, if you're having trouble with power fists, take power klaws. taste of his own medicine and all that.
If I've replied, i've probably used Italics...

I played a list that sounds similar to your friend's at a local tournament, which leads me to ask:
How the hell does he field a jump pack list in a 500 point game? We played an 1850 point game, and there weren't that many units in his army.
Anyway, the trick to beating assault based marines is to do at least one of the following (although both is best):
1. Shoot them up before they reach you. My chaos opponent was using a demon prince with a jump pack, and I was able to shoot him to pieces using only two trukks of boyz, one filled with shoota boyz and the other with slugga boyz. Adding in the trukks, that was 6 strength 5 shots, and 35 strength 4 shots. On average, that's about 2 wounds, but I got lucky, rolled 3 wounds, and killed him. Even if I hadn't, I could have assaulted him and finished him off with powerklaws. Orks are shootier than you might think.
2. Deny them the assault. Assault marines are devastating if they assault you, but they aren't as scary if you assault them, or at the very least consolidate into them. As long as you have powerklaws, you will wear them down, or at least hold them off until reinforcements arrive.
Just in case they manage to assault you, and you didn't shoot them, there's an emergency 3rd option:
3. Hold a unit back to counter-assault. Counter-assaulting is one of the most potent moves available in 40k. Even though they've weakened or destroying your one unit, they are now held in close combat, and vulnerable to having an opponent assault him, since after he assaults, it becomes his opponent's turn. My favorite tactic is to hold a trukk full of boyz back behind cover, to counter-assault the enemy or join a fight already in progress. Other players have had success with having a dread walk behind his other troops, to join fights that have already begun.
