Welcome to Librarium Online!
I just recently finished playing a 2000pt game against the eldar. It was a massecre My destoyers were on fire and the he rolled really bad. He choose 2 wave serpents 3 vypers and a grav tank. He also took some fire dragons some jetbikes 2 wraithlords an autarch and a farseer. I think he had two squads of dire avengers as well with a warlock. I took 30 warriors 10 immortals 6 destoyers grouped, a destroyer lord grouped with 3 wraiths and a monolith. Oh and I had a vod footlord attached to my immortal squad. The one warrior squad was held in reserve with the monolith. I won the roll of and decided to go first. I moved up the destroyers and managed to be within range of one of his wave serpents and concentrated fire....Boom! destroyed six of his fire dragons inside. I pretty much held everything else back except for the wraiths/destroyer lord which moved up towards cover. The eldar moved up and fired some shots but not accomplishing much except for a downed destroyer. His farseer on a jetbike tried to make a shortcut by moving through the woods but rolled a 1 on his difficult terrain test8Y splork!. His other jetbikes targeted my destroyers but failed to wound. After making my we'll be back roll my six destoyers fired at his grav tank again boom destroyed! On the other side his vypers and other wave serpent met resistance as my immortals and squadron of warriors opened fire crippling his wave serpent(immobilised) and destroying one of the vypers weapons. My destroyerlord and wraiths charged his one dire avenger squad and killed 6 in the process. On his turn with a mouthful of curses he moved up his wraithlords and shot up my detroyers effectively killing 2. His jetbikes again failed to wound. Meanwhile his dire avengers dismounted the immobilised wave serpent but were still out of range. His vypers continued to move up and opened fire at my immorals dropping 2. His fire dragons having recovered drudgingly moved up. Meanwhile his dire avengers passed leaderhip(poor fools) and rallied killing one wraith! I rolled my we'll be back and only one immortal didn't stand up. Also I rolled for reserves and both the monolith and warriors were ready and came into play. The monolith came down and fired at his firedragons, killing 2 and the newly arrived warriors finished off the the immobilesed wave serpent. Seeing the wraithlords as my next closest threat I concentrated fire on them but only inflicted the one wound. Meanwhile my other warriors fired at the vyper squad and managed destroy one. The immortals teleported closer to the jetbikes and fired managing to kill one. With a resigned sigh he looked at what to do next and decided to target the destroyers and concentrated all his fire from his two remaing jetbikes and his wraithlords and dropped three destroyers. His were all but dead and his remaing vyper continued to fire at a squad of warriors dropping one. Meanwhile his warlock got cut down with his remaing dire avengers in c/c from the wraiths and destroyerlord. The game nearly over and pretty well decided I rolled wbb and the destroyers rallied concentrating fire and managing to kill one wraithlord. The immortals opened fire and wounded the other wraithlord while my wraiths and destroyer lord attacked his remaing jetbikes. On the other end between my monolith and two warrior squads hs remaining vyper and left over fire dragons and dire avenger squads were sent packing. His turn he said the game was over and with his his wounded wraithlord the only piece he had alive ended the game. Sorry about the long post but it was quite the enjoyable game. :C
Fighting eldar has always been pretty easy for me... It seems like necrons are specifically made to pwn eldar. Loads of AP 4 weapons, high toughness units, counter mobility, bright lance nerfed.
I was going to start a thread for that... But this seemed like a good place to?
Do you think necrons have a better chance beating eldar than other armies do?
Ooo good point. Very good point.
Lists like that could definitely be a huge hassle.
However, aspect warriors go down like flys.
For me the destoyers just munch on the eldar. Eldars low toughness makes them rather fragile. They're vehicle upgrades doen't matter as much as other races because of or auto glancing gauss weapons. Still I can see some problems with wraithlords and some other units. But again with an average toughness of 3......just shoot em up
Paragraphs dude, far easier to read then.
Im not a necron player but form the games I've seen Necrons vs Eldar, it is a pretty fair match. Eldar can pull some pretty crazy stuff, but once you learn to expect that sort of thing tis fairly straightofrward.
As Axever said once you can anticipate the Eldar's moves its easy to manipulate them.
