Well i used to collect orks, but have recently been side tracked with a small but powerful army of demonhunters. But now having them finished i have decided to make a whole new ork army, i have a few models already for example, ghazgull thrakka and a couple of mega armoured orks, then the other warboss i brought over the weekend. Its just i aint too sure on what to take, either a mega armoured hq and my warboss in mega armour or a normal one in heavy armour. Could anyone shed some light on the best hq to use ??

One more problem, it seems that all my mega armoured orks in the hq would have to be equipped identicaly, is this the case or have i misread somewhere?

Anyway thanks for the help in advance, hope to see some replies later

Mega-armored orks are terribly slow: If you're not going to mount them in a trukk then you can forget about them ever getting into battle against anyone but the dumbest opponent. You also throw away your ork boss's biggest advantage: I8 with the Waaaagh! That puts him ahead of just about everything out there. In general I prefer mega armoring a trukkboy nob or a couple of the orks in the boss's bodyguards (don't forget the "majority amor rule" with orks means if the 2+ are in the majority, the hits go on them first (essentially your boss gets a lot of the benefits without the slow speed). Just remember if you do opt for mega-armor, you MUST buy the mega-booster too or you could slow the whole mob down to a crawl.

Question #2: Mega-armor comes with a shoota & PK automatically so you basically have to arm them all identically; you can give them custom job combi-weapons but those points start adding up on an already expensive unit so YMMV.

You don't have to equip your entire retinue with mega-armor...you can do some with no armor or eavy armor. Depends on your available models or taste.

just get the eavy armoured warboss and for his retinue, 9 nobz would do fine. but the idea of mega armoured orks in a trukk is pretty good but theyre a fire magnet. ive always stuck with the eavy armour

Godd point, DBclay. But I'd say stick your bikes infront of your warboss anyway - even without the trukk (seeing as I don't use gretchin but I'm sure that disease isn't contageous)

if you dont give your warboss a return he can hide in larger mobz and not die that way.
