Anyone else feel that MCs should be able to tank shock? It sounds very much in character for a Carnifex to barrel into a unit rather than charge up and stop at the closest model to unload his attacks. Would also make the tail weapons somewhat usable. Just an idea and wishes for the next dex.
It would probably work a bit differently but i think something along the lines of a tank shock for MC's would be interesting. Not sure how they'd implement it though... And unless the Carnifex is sped up at all i dunno how useful it would be. Hive Tyrant on the other hand might be a bit too strong. Psychic scream/tank shock/Horror would be an interesting Tyrant combo to try if it was possible.
If all else fails, house rules are always an option.
I think a Carnifex tank shocking would be a bad idea. The last thing you want is a unit sidestepping the carnifex because it's fearless or the unit you charged running away so that carnifex is in the midst of a firing line with nothing keeping it from being the target of every lascannon, brightlance, or melta weapon. Locking a carnifex in CC is more desirable.
"The internet perceives censorship as damage, and routes around it."
Yeah, I prefer my fex to chew through things. It would be fun if they got some kind of trample though.
I think gargantuan creatures can tank shock. They do when they move. I think it works for them because they move a very high distance and they also can assault a long way. On monstrous cretures i think their move would be too short for tank shocking not to become a problem of simply scattering enemy models and not killing them.
A form of "impact hits" similar to a WHFB chariot might be usable, to represent troops just getting trampled as the MC charges in. Maybe MCs with S/T <= 6 would do D3 or D4 impact hits (things like Tyrants, Greater Demons of Tzeentch and Slaanesh, since they're "smaller" monstrous critters). But things with massive Str and T (like fexes, GD of Khorne and Nurgle, Wraithlords, etc) would do D6. Walkers should also do impact hits. Maybe somehow use the charged unit's I value to determine the damage (jumping out of the way).
