Okay so it's either 2 Syching Talons or Sything Talons and Rending Claws.

Theres no point in giving him RC, becuase he already gets the benefits from being a monstrous creature.

--- Have to agree, RenClws most often aren't worth it on a Tyrant...

There are situations where the Tyrant could use them, like against C'Tan, Wraithlords, et cetera, but quite frankly I wouldn't send the Tyrant into CC against those as my primary battleplan...

Rather try to shoot them down before getting them bogged with 'Stealers or Warriors with RenClw.

So 2x ScyTal is the most effective Bioweapons configuration for a CC Tyrant. An option to consider would be ScyTal + LshWhp, but considering Guards have LshWhps, it's sort of moot to put them on the Tyrant as well.

Don't forget the WBlast and EnhSen, though... Since the Tyrant can be the most effective shot in the swarm, You should not waste it's abilities by limiting to CC only.

Well I won't be having any guard because it's for a seeding swarm and the tyrant will be winged.

You should give your tyrant 2x talons, most, if not every, biomorph upgrade and warp blast. Thats my normal CC tyrant configuration anyway. Maybe you could play around with the other hive mind powers, catalyst works well against high I armies ie Dark Eldar, pyshic scream works well against armies with lots of psykers and armies which have Ld of around 7/8 for their general troop choices.
Then you can play around with ImpAttack, bioplasma etc...

My Winged CC Tyrant:

Winged

AdrG WS
EnhSen
ToxSac
AdrG I
ExtCar

ImpAtt

2x ScyTal
WBlast

At 197pts, that's very nasty...

Sometimes I play around with Psychic Scream or Bio-Plasma, but they're mostly toys, with the primary configuration being the one above.

Sort of off-topic, but how often does a non-winged CC tyrant get into CC? Is it generally suicide to try it without the wings but with tyrant guards, or should I really invest the money and get the wings?

Well, send your little gaunts towards the enemy and if they target the tyrant they will be clawed to death. Kill the gaunts and your tyrant is right in front of them with venom cannon or talons. Make 'em choose. use "shoot the big ones" to your advantage.

Well, Wings are only 15 bucks(If you get the dragon ones). Not very costly and it fits quite well with a Tyrant. Btw, I say no to a CC Tyrant with no wings.
