ok as you guys allready know, GW are working on a new codex to go along with deamon hunters and witch hunters, and well the great devourer is getting a codex update in the not to distant future as well...the thing is should we be worried?
i have listend to and seen a fair amount of chaos players moan about how unfair and nasty deamon hunter armies are toward there armies
so the chance of getting a whole new imperium codex that is going to specifically designed to take out Xenos (tau, orks, more importantly us nids)
should we be worried about NID hunting armies ?

i heard a rumour Stealer cult rules will be included but the idea of an army tooled up with lots of uber cheesy rules to take down the great hive mind has me worried

So what do u guys think?

--- I'm not that worried about Ordo Xenos.

I'm more worried about the rumours that Ultramarines will no longer be "Vanilla"... Instead, they'll become some sort of anti-'Nid specialist SM. Like Chaplains who could negate Synapse for a turn. Surely a pitiful few-hundred-year-old genefreak human can shut off something that's evolved billions of years... Yeah, right. Sounds as good as the fluff basis for "Shoot the Big Ones!". <_<

IF the rumours are true, of course...

Well, if it turns out to be so, I'll do my damndest to never lose to an UltraSMurf player! Behemoth almost devoured them, and I won't let those boys in blue get to Hive Fleet Makazemure!

Wow, never heard of that. Sounds kinda, well stupid. Real stupid. For me, that would not make any sence at all. Well, with the Nids, lots of things dont make any sence(STBO). Like you said...

Ordo Xenos? Who cares, we eat them all the same. They may have some nasties, but they will have their weaknesses. Witchhunters don't have much long-range heavy firepower, yet they are brand spanking new. Imagine these so-called Xenos Hunters. They will fall, ahahahahahahahahahAHAHAHAHAHAHA

hmmm i totaly forgot about the ultramarines! lol
as Uzi-99 said if they get tooled up with uber cheese rules for fighting against nids
ill do my best to take them down whenever i fight them, hehehe i allready take battles against the ultramarines personally, and if they get a new load of snazzy rules, it will just make my battles with the blueboys that little bit more intense.

that blue armour seems to taste that little bit better than any of the others

Its a conspirsy thing, they just dont want to seel SM and IG codexs anymore.

What difference will it make what special stuff they develop.

We can consume it when we beat them and redistribute information and stratergies to other swarms and adapt!

"Oh damn thats fluff".....

....."we do that anyway "

I dont think im particularly worried about xeno hunters, maybe a little...

If anything im very curious... I know one of my regular opponents will be collecting them so it is almost certain that I will regularly have too face them (plus with my witch hunters and kirrars demonhunters theres a nice inquitorial theme going on).
I look forward to facing them.
Also remember xeno hunters are not going to be only anti nids: tau, eldar and ork players should also be worried. I think that xeno hunters shuold be a very interesting opponent, most probably supported with some snazzy deathwatvh kill times etc, should be real nice.

On the whole ultrmarines thing, I collect ultramarines too woohoo  ! and Im the only person in my group that does! sure I can lend people my ultra-Smurfs army and I probably will, but not after play testing their anti nid abilities for myself. I dont think chaplains would negate synapse for a turn, sounds a bit ridiculous (librarian could try that for a pschic power instead of smite...) but I do think they could get; hellfire rounds, say a tyranid hater rule, maybe some kind of targeting device and some nifty wargear. Not forgetting tyrnaid hunter veteran squads, chaplain casius and Invictus (brave heroes from the times of behemoth etc). I would be more worried about souped up p***sed off ultramarines than xeno hunters but maybe im wrong..... <_<

At last! an ultra mariens player!! the last of an endangerd species! as far as im concerned the 'Nids can go to hell! the thought of something to challange the sea of gribblies and you all start b*****n about how life is so hard! think of the agrophobic tau tin-can suits, the ork go carts... sorry buggies. and what about the girlie, soz again "agile" eldar. wat about them! god you call yourselves the devorers of the universe? hah i laugh out loud in your blubbing faces! pull your selves together an nibble those xeno hunters to death AND STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM FENRIS

Well, we shall see... I am looking forward to Xeno hunters, I think it should make my battles with a friend of mine who is starting 'nids that much more interesting. I'm not sure how I feel about the rules to beef up Marines (I'm an IG player, so I'm no big fan of Marines, although the Ultras are by far my favorite). The bottom line is that the chaos players are *****ed because IG and Marines can finally beat their super-specialized armies. You don’t want to be like chaos players, they’re whiny bastards (or, rather, the ones who bitch about Inquisitors being cheese are whiny bastards). Inquisitors are cool, but they are points sinks. If you avoid the Inquisitor, you will find that the rest of the army is mysteriously missing 300 or more points (hmmm...)

I do have a question:
Why, precicely is the fluff for "shoot the big ones" bad (besides the fact that it is bad for 'nids?) With out that rule, it would be like playing a guard army where tanks could not be targeted if a single 6-point guardsman was closer. That’s just crazy... Nids don't have vehicles, so the rule provides needed balance. Surely you guys are good enough to deal with a little leveling of the playing field?

true, but that's not the problem.... HOWEVER, how would a guardsmen feel when could be shot at EVEN if he's behind a tank... the problem with shoot the big ones isn't that you can shoot the big ones whenever you like, but also the small genestealers
