Im buying a destroyer lord, this weekend.
My first question is: What does the Staff Of Light, ResUrrectional Orb and Phylactery look like. I need to know so when Im at G.W I dont look like an idiot trying to assembling it and not knowing which parts look like which.
My Second Question is: This destroyer lord will be my golden demon entry for later on in the year (Im australian) Do you have any ideas, I was thinking of doing a gold one, but the yellow and and the black cracks in the carapeace would look awful, so any ideas??
Thanks so much!
See that in response to one of your earlier threads.
The Orb is.. well, an orb in the Lords hand. The Staff of Light is the Weapon thats NOT Scythe-like (thats the Warscythe). Phylactry, just use a Scarab, or the Scarab like thing on the DLords arm.
Also, if its any help / inspiration, heres my Dlord:
Few bits missing from where my brother dropped it on the floor! Grrr... Also i may remove the Spyder Claws from it, they make the front too busy.
Thats pretty darn awesome!! If so did you enter it in the golden demon, if so how far did you get?
Im like WOW, I've never seen anything more impressive, talk about inspiration!!
PS. Thanks about all the help, I'lle save it too my favourites so I remember to read it before I go!
I probably count'nt make anything like that though, since after that it would only be my 16th, model converted/painted.
Maybe I should paint mine gold!!!
I didnt enter it in any GD or the like though, don't think it would stand much of a chance of winning to be honest. Could be better made and painted.
I think you would of got past you local G.W with a bit of luck.
PS. Im going to paint the model at G.W, and they give you free paint there. Do you know any cool paint shcemes I could use? Really I could use any paints.
Ceramic looks pretty cool i think, but ive never tried it. Look in the Codex for some ideas, and maybe come up with your own scheme from those. Use Warriors as test models first before you go to the Lord. What looks cool really is up to you, id say paint the model for yourself, not for others, even if entering GD, its gotta be something you're happy with.
Wow... Phoenix... that lord..... wow.
But I believe the D-lord box comes with some sort of phylactary. As for the staff of light, it looks like..... well to be honest I really cant tell the difference between the SOL and the warscythe. The resurrection orb basically looks like a ball, I have a picture of the res orb I did somewhere around here.
EDIT Here is the res orb. Basically it's just a piece of a earing I found laying in the dirt so I took it out and glued it in his hand. It looks like its glass with some sort of mirror in the bottom that reflects really funky colours.

As i said, feel free to steal the idea Id love to see someone do it awesomely, better paint job (smoother). And i wish i could find the Gauss rd and tip to go back in the Scythe, and the Tail, there was a Gauss rod and Scythe tip on that too...
The resord is ''mounted'' behind the Wraithspine, that shiny green ball (DA green + S Gold) And that little Scarab near the back of the Dbody is Phylac. lol.
I did have some rules for the Destroyer Wraith Spyder Lord.... basically along the lines of Lord, with ResOrb, Phylac, Gaze of Flame (his eyes are orange ) Wscythe w/ SoL obviously, Dbody, Phase shifter, Wraithflight (Wraiths rule). Monstrous Creature with Spyder repair rules too....
So yea, he was pretty Uber, and fun
Oh, the base could be better too i think.
So the one in your picture was the warscythe?
PS. I dont know, I sorta want to make the lord different but necrons are like robots they,'re all meant to be the same.
I guess like this one http://farm1.static.flickr.com/71/16...6db037.jpg?v=0 but in a destroyer lord form, and whats the shiny paint, casue I really dont like that.
