ok i need some clerification/help with the pulse carbine rules.
ok so if they unit suffers a casualty them they have to take a pinning test right?
so do use the same pinning test as the ordenence barrage pinning in the rule book?
thats was the only pinning test thing i could find, so if u use a diffrent one, please tell me what it is and here i can find it.
which units can be pinned? i cant remeber which things can be pinned or not.
and also if they get pinned they can move shoot or assault the the next turn correct?
well that all i can tnink of right now
if u can help or add anything please do.
thanks so much!
If a unit suffers a carbine casualty they MUST take a pinning test unless specifically stated otherwise in the units rules or if the unit takes 25% or more casualty which overides the pinning test to make a Fall Back test. Yes they are the same pinning tests as Ordanance blasts. If the unit fails their moral test, pinning test, they may not move shoot or assault in the following turn.
Hope this helps.
There are many units that cannot be pinned. For example, Tyranid monstrous creatures. Best bet is to ask your opponent about it before you start playing. That way you'll avoid shooting your carbines in a useless effort.
I dont use carbines for their pinning effects much. I would like to, but almost every army I've played against is, in someway or another, fearless. Necron, Almost all types of Space Marines (the ones that aren't have a ld of 9-10 anyway) Tyranids in synapse range. Ive made alot of kills with my Gun drones /carbine FWs, and never pinned a unit once.
I've seen Necrons fail their morale tests and pinning tests with the best of 'em. If you're worried. Nothing more satisfying than seeing an enemy stand perfectly still for an entire turn.

Tau: 4/4/3 - 50%
DaemonHunters: 1/2/0 - 33.3%
Dark Angels: 3/1/0 - 75%
2 gun drones= 2 killed blood claws (space wolf cc units), one pinned unit for a turn
yeah, less than a percent probability o that happening, if i remember... (probably wrong)
Slackerhauk: I think you're wrong in relation to pinnin/fall back tests.
Pining test are done as soon as a squad has suffered a casualty from an enemy squad with a weapon that causes pinning.
Morale checks (fall back) are done at the end of your enemie's shooting phase.
If a squad fails a pining test, can't move, shoot or assault, they do not test to fall back as ppinning has precedence by being done first (if you can't move, you can't run away).
Something else that i'm not completely sure about is that contrary to normal pining tests ordenance pining gets a -1 to the units Ld.
*slacker loos in shameful as he rereads the rulebook noticing the "NOT" in the sentence this time* sorry my mistake..
Where does it say that morale overides pinnin, can't find it, can you give a page number????
I always thought you test for pin then if they pass they test for morale
If you charge a bunker and die, its called being reckless, but if you charge the bunker and win, it's heroic!
