im new to ork and have only played 1 battle with them. i was wondering what to give my warboss from the armoury. when i played i gave em mega armor, the boostas, and a uge' choppa. is this good equipment for a warboss? plz give suggestions, thanx.
NO!!!!!!!! never use a uge' choppa. give him 'eveay armour and choppa in smaller games and mega armor, boostas, cybork body.

mega armor and an uge choppa... WHY grrr you fools you get a pk with mega armor for free why get a weapon worse than a pk!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 3;!!
I like bionik arm and bionik bonce to go with my 'evy armour and choppa and maybe a slugga if i need to use points.
every body say Waaaaagh!
I usally give my Warboss a Choppa, Slugga, Heavy armor. Thats about it, maybe some more things. But it makes a strong cheap Warboss.
As someone pointed out: Mega-armor comes with a built-in power klaw... that's infinitiely better than a 'uge choppa.
You'll get a million different answers from people. Here's my simple philosophy:
You throw away your warboss's greatest ability, his I 8 with the Waaagh, when you arm him with a power klaw. As an IC, he can be targeted at all times in CC (even with a retinue) and so he's a sitting duck if he strikes last. Hence, a choppa (along with a slugga if you want the +1 A, otherwise give him a bigger gun) is the only choice. Give a nob in his retinue (if you take one) OR a nob leading a big mob the power klaw: They can't be targeted and so are virtually guaranteed to be able to strike when their turn comes.
'uge Choppas are a waste of points except if you decide to give a slaver one; in that case it's cheaper than the power klaw option and only gives you one point less S. That said, I'd never give a slaver a 'uge choppa.
Not to complain or anything. But does anyone thing that the Ork choppa should have some different rule? I know that this one is great, but I dont see how a choppa can go through the heaviest of armor, and yet do nothing to an guardsmen or Tau...
Oh, and I recently noticed that the Bionik Bonce helps my warboss a lot, never leaves his home without one.
My warboss always has eavy armor, bionic bonce, cybork body, choppa, and slugga with shootier and more dakka. Sometimes he gets frag stikkbombz and tankbustabombz, and an attack squig for a cheap extra wound.I understand the concern, but it comes down to simplicity. I'd prefer the old way 40K took care of AP. Weapons did not have an AP value they had a negative to armor value. By that I mean, a plasma pistol would be listed as reducing armor saves by 4 or so. This would make a 3+ armor save uselss. A choppa could be a negative 2 to armor. Armor saves of 5+ or 6+ are worthless, and power armor winds up with a save of 5+. Unfortunately it would slow down the game, and GW doesn't want that. Not to complain or anything. But does anyone thing that the Ork choppa should have some different rule? I know that this one is great, but I dont see how a choppa can go through the heaviest of armor, and yet do nothing to an guardsmen or Tau...
The fire's going out...pass me another heretic.
Aye, I understand, but I would like my Warboss to kill more than 2 guardsmen a turn...For the normal boyz, I think its fine, but for the biggest, baddest ork around? I dont get how a normal choppa from an Ork boy can do the same thing as the one from the warboss. One is so much bigger!
