This is a question for those who have been lucky enough to read the new rulebook. From what I have gathered the new rule for turbo boosting states that any turbo boosting model gains a 3+ cover save here is my question
1) Is this the correct reading of the rule (my concerns revolve around the word “cover save”)
2) That would mean that scarabs would be get a 2+ cover save due their special rule of small targets
3) Can units that operate as jet bikes go to ground
If scarabs can go to ground after turbo boosting that would confer to them a 1+ save making them invincible. The third part I am pretty sure is a pipe dream but if and only if the rule states “cover save” we would most certainly get a 2+ cover whenever we turbo boost making the scarabs a hell of a lot better then they were before. Is this the case? Until I can get to GW and ask I would like the opinions of the board.

Yeah and they confer a 4+ to any units behind them. 10 scarabs and a destroyer lord sounds pretty tempting right now
I just read the rulebook and if I remember, bikes cannot go to ground, and swarms cannot confer a cover save to anything above infantry, so no monstrous creatures nor vehicles. But other than that I think you're bang on.
Just read the 5th edition rulebook today. It looks like scarabs are going to get a 2+ cover save whenever they turbo boost. This to me is amazing and i def plan on taking 10 of these little buggers whenever i play
Just so I'm not misunderstanding, is it confirmed that Turbo Boosting confers a boiler-plate 3+ cover save? Or, is that just an example and the save is a converted save from an Armour Save to a Cover Save?
If this is true, we Necron players don't have to dig so deep to find more gold in 5th edition.
*hopes it's a static 3+*

You are very much correct in your assessment sir. After reading the special rule that is exactly what it states; cover save. So a 12 pt 3wound model gets a 2+ cover from shooting whenever it goes over 18in, which lets face it is every game with my scarabs, there either turbo boosting or assaulting
