Hello, well the humble tomb spyder has been getting alot of attention lately, and heres my take on a radical idea for 5th edition. Alright so Necrons can get 10 MC's into a list! A c'tan and 9 tomb spyders. for 1100 points you can get a Deceiver , bare troops, and 9 tomb spyders.
In 5th edition the majority toughness rules are changing so you can raise the amount of toughness 6 wounds your tomb spyders have to 45!!
Thats if you give them 1 scarab base each.
Plus the deceiver's wounds you have a total of 45 toughness 6 wounds, and 5 toughness 8 wounds. All of these units can now run and pack a punch in close combat.
I'm not planning to change my list too this but I am considering buying 9 tomb spyders just for the heck of it, and overall the tomb spyder is shaping up to become a solid choice in 5th edition.
Wow...that's...so glorious. hahahaha. Kick it up to 1300 by adding a squad of destroyers for cover fire eh?
I really know what ya mean about buying spyders. Though I'm getting a mono first so I'll just have to bide my time...
Could call it the "Necron construction force." Give the deceiver a bullhorn, reflective vest and a hardhat.
Wow I need to get more sleep...
Oh my that would be hard to kill, only problem is, is that you are going to wound your syders making all the scarabs. But I wouldn't do that until and 2000 point battle min
Prey they don't take you alive
One sec.. how does MajT work? Isnt it on wounds? In which case, one Scarab base (3W) would make the 2W Soyder just T3? What did i miss now? lol.
Still, liking the idea. Theres a new MC in town!
Heh, a friend actually runs a similar list in 4th at 2k for fun:
It's actually surprisingly effective against many lists, though lots of S6 shooting can do a real number on it... but not that many armies are capable of handling 30 turbo-boosting scarabs on turn 1 followed by 9 scarabs being created a turn.
Unfortunately, Nidzilla tends to eat it alive.

Been here nearly 10 years and still haven't managed 500 posts.
Question, as a MC does a TS still count as 10 models for purpose of majority? that could be awsome. . .
*shrug* I see no reason for them to change it.
Pheonix randomization is what they did in 3ed correct? I think I remember that sorta. And it made way more sense than changing the T of models in a unit just 'cause they where there.
