Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hi! My brother runs a Chaos army, and after a few Proxy games we have run I realize that my army can plow through him pretty easily, except for one guy: Abbadon the Despoiler
Those d6+4 S8 attacks that ignore armor saves just go right through anything I have, and at I6 all but my Genestealers and CC Tyrant go after him, and usally he kills a Carnifex or ranged Tyrant in one round.
Since he has a 2+ save, everything I shoot at him, save 18" Warp Blast (which I have recently added) just bounces right off, and he is very lucky in saving, so even when 10 Devourer shots wound he will shake them off without a scratch. It seems I have had to be lucky with his Daemon weapon rolling a 1 and killing him lately.
Any good ways to take him out reliably?
The only thing I can think of is throw a bunch of gaunts at him all at once, massive wall of rounds and hope something gets through. 12-20 termigaunts shooting at him atleast something might get through. You can't match him for toughness but maybe you can swarm him
"Ohm nom nom nom"
Genestealers with or with out a Broodlord. I6 or 7 and going through that armor. Declare all your attacks to him and call it a day, should be dead in a turn.
Army's used: Space Wolves, Tomb Kings, High Elves, Tyranids, Tau and Eldar.
I think Genestealers are my best bet, just because they are one of the only things that wont die before they can attack, can get through his armor, and are numerous enough to hope to survive one round with him. Thanks for your help.
you can throw a higher initive broodlord at him and hope you roll statistically average, which would hurt him. Thrown on implant attack against him and the broolord will rip him to shreds, and for cheaper than abbadon is (if I remember correctly).
The other option is throw gaunts at him. drop a roughly equal number of points on gaunts (say 30 or so if I remember abbadon's price tag correctly) and go with statistics. Hit him with that many attacks and he'll run out of wounds before you do. Plus he can only kill a few points of yours at a time (his uber attack of uberness is wasted on gaunts) which is always good.
Either of those should handle mr. mcnasty easily enough. And if they don't either you should volunteer yourself for experiment (as proof that badluck really does exist) or you should insist that you roll your bro's dice too.
~2k of genestealery goodness
~1750points of terminator goodness

more witty remarks to come.
If you are trying to kill him, I would again suggest stealers. Another option is to overload him with dakka. By just shooting him with devil tyrants, dakka fexes anything else you can find can actually kill him rather quickly if you can get a turn or two of focussed fire. The problem with this being his IC status, so this is hard to use as an actual strategy on how to kill him but more of a back up or opportunistic plan.
I personally like the idea of flooding him with gaunts to stall him up. They may actually kill him if get a shooting phase and a good amount of luck. Abbadon is a very expensive unit, so just taking him out of commission is good for the overall game and since gaunts are dirt cheap, it's worth it to tie him up for a few turns, even if he doesn't die. You just have to prevent him from doing damage or scoring, which gaunts will do.

Dear Game Developer,Caps-Lock, its like cruise-control for AWESOMENESS!
Rock is cheese, Paper is just fine
WWP and other Dark Eldar how to
Abbadon is a nasty guy, but don't get intimidated by him. (well, at least in 4th edition )
1) He can only walk 6'', meaning you can probably just evade him by walking around yourself.
2) You can bog him down in a Cloud of Gaunts. Just make sure your gaunts stay within synapse, and there is nothing to sweat when taking #1 into account.
3) Gene's can damage him, if your roll the rends. If not, then say bye bye 'stealers.
4) Broodlord (with implant attack) can kill him.
5) A HT with superious I should probably be able to waste him.
6) Lashwips. HT + 3 Tyrant guard, done! (Lashwips works wonders against chaos sometimes, especially those Spawm (almost always only 1 attack )
I thinks thats about it
Tyranids Win / Draw /Lost
Daemon Hunters Win / Draw / Lost
Bullets and bodies. He's just terminator armor ... I know you said your bro' was lucky with his rolls or w/e, but the odds come around with time.

Cool, I might actually try a Broodlord one of these times, but im not sure if I fear him enough to give up a Tyrant.
Thanks for the help so far!
