Alright, so my friend is bringing a Necron Monolith to the fight, and I have no idea what to do. As far as I can tell, he's going to tear me apart, and the only way I can win is to avoid the thing entirely and try to kill enough models to force them to "phase out".
My question is, do the orks have a better method of dealing with something that massive?
Forcing Phase Out if your best bet. Lucky for you, Orks are exceptionally good and krumping them tin boyz.
If you really want to handle the Mono, a Warboss with a PK is your best bet. Throw him on a bike and charge asap, you'll be hitting on a 4+ at worst with S10 and a lot of attacks. That should down it. Otherwise, Zzap guns, Weirdboy melta, and the SAG are our only ways to destroy the Mono.

Damn monolith! I'd attack it with a powerklawed unit. A nob charge with a PK has a strength of 9 with multiple attacks, most of which should hit. A warboss can do the same. Or, depending on the number of crons he has, you couid ignore it and phase him out. Also, if you shoot enough rokkits at it, you might be able to damage its weapons or even destroy it if you're using tank bustas.
Battlewagon full of tankbustas!
"Orks have to be followers of Nurgle! They're green, smell bad, and just want to spread the fun!"
It should be a push over, orks will hit last but necrons are the worst CC troops I've ever seen, I think I'd be just as scared of gaurdsmen if they were only a little bit tougher...
even a small squad of boyz, as long as they have enough number to survive the first initiative stage, will obliterate!!! a squad of necrons with ease.
All you have to do is truck to his front lines and thats it, remember he can't shoot your guys in CC so if all, or most orks within range are in combat, his mono is a wasted turn.

Your goal with Tankbustas is to immobilze the Monolith, then charge it in CC with those Tankhammers. Hasn't failed me yet (though I'll admit only tried it once )Hits on 5+ and glances on 6... -2(or 1, I can't remember) for the new vehicle table... that wont do anything.
Monkey's Killer Kan WiP (Updated 4/29)
How many points will you be playing? If you are playing at around 1,500 points then get 2 warbosses with squig etc and stick them on a bike. 6 str 10 hits hitting on a 4+ will cause havok. Also can he only teleport out of ccb through the monolith or can he do that with a lord?
Nothing more funny than 3 inquisitors with sanctify when facing deamons. They cant do anything while you stand in front of them having a tee break.
I thought the mono counted as a skimmer meaning you only hit on a 6 in CC? I'm not 100% on that, may have been only for 4th edition.
What is dis signature nonsence?! dem stupid human zoggers are always trien to confuze us.
yeah, best way to deal with monoliths with orks in 5th ed. is warboss power claw or Zzap gun. i used to use rokkits in 4th ed.(lucky shots with 6's) but since they only glance and that's a -2 modifier... a 6 becomes 4, immobilized.crons worst in CC? sure the warriors have no real CC ability but if you don't have a power weapon or some kind (not a problem with orks most the time) they get their 'we will be back'. in my opioun, tau are the worst...It should be a push over, orks will hit last but necrons are the worst CC troops I've ever seen, I think I'd be just as scared of gaurdsmen if they were only a little bit tougher...skimmers get no benifit in CC for being a skimmer, it's all based on how far something moved. seeing how the monolith can only move 6" the worst you hit on is 4+ (stationary is auto-hit).I thought the mono counted as a skimmer meaning you only hit on a 6 in CC? I'm not 100% on that, may have been only for 4th edition.
