I'm starting an Eldar army based loosely around the plot of the film "7 Samurai". It goes something like this: Eldar colonists on a Maiden world are leading an agricultural existence when somebody (either Orks or Imperium) start messing with them. The colonist's are badly outclassed by their new enemies so their leaders travel to a secret Howling Banshee shrine hidden deep in the mountains to seek their aid. The Banshees travel down the mountain and start regulating punks. Then the bad guys escalate further so the Eldar enlist the aid of a young but incredibly talented Warlock and her Wraithlord companions (also living in a shrine deep in the mountains).
Personally, I'm very pleased with my kung-fu, feudal Japanese Eldar concept but being new to the Eldar, I'm not sure if it makes fluff sense. Firstly, the Eldar are new colonists rather than Exodites, and I'm not sure if a Craftworld would leave it's colonies so militarily weak. Secondly, if this world is a new Eldar colony, then how did all of the ancient Aspect Warrior shrines come into being?
Once again, I like this concept but it won't work unless I iron out the fluff issues. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
By all means do a samurai themed army, and check out mine if you want to pick up some ideas:

As for the fluff, the whole living in a shrine thing does not work. Just have the village eldar travel to the warpgate and send out a call for help, at which point a shrine of banshees comes pouring out. Wraithlords...I dunno. They are generally
the spirits of ancient heroes revived in times of great war, kind of like the avatar.
Maybe if you changed it to after the banshees started getting pushed around too, the whole craftworld came to kick some ass, and brought all the bad boys along...then it would work
Hmm, bummer. Do you think Exodites would have aspect warriors? I know it sounds silly but I can't get the whole "shrine in the mountains" imagery out of my head and I want to make it work somehow.
Hey Ibushi that is one tight wraithlord with the vibro cannon (rep).
And panzer I don't think craftworlds go a colonizing because of the problems with soulstones and Slaanesh so having a not exodite planet may not make fluff sense. It may fit better that an exodite world was forced into slavery/massacred or something and some outcasts from a craftworld helped them "discover" aspects in order to throw off their oppresors/fight back. Just an idea hopefully some people with more eldar fluff knowledge than me can help you out.

I think this is a great idea for an army.
I agree with Ibushi about the village elder seeking a hidden warpgate shrine and beseeching it for help.
As for the wraithguard or wraithlords: perhaps the Wraith armor is stored beneath the Maiden world, or it is simply brought from the craftworld via the warpgate, and then the souls from the slain warriors of the maiden world are placed withing the wraith armor to animate it.
"The sword that takes life gives life."
Ibushi, that is some amazing work. The sakura are very well detailed and the rest of your work is true to the source material.

I could see many possible translations of the "seven samurai" theme. My inner eye shows me an old shrine on an exodite world where three sleeping Wraithlords stand like ornaments, waiting for the Chaos/Ork/Tyranid/Necron/Dark Eldar invasion, and a lone psyker venturing out to wake them. Or perhaps the exodite culture sends an envoy to a nearby craftworld asking for help in the coming raid, and getting unexpected help from a handful of elite warriors. I'm thinking seven or so themed exarchs/autarchs/phoenix lords.
If we're to follow the original roles, it could be something like this:
Kambei: Farseer (possibly play as Eldrad Ulthran)
Goroubei: Autarch (equip with power weapon and reaper launcher)
Shichirouji: Dire Avenger exarch
Heihachi: Fire Dragon exarch (for no particular reason)
Katsushirou: Warlock with a squad of Defenders
Kyuuzou: Banshee exarch, or possibly play as Harlequin troupe leader
Kikuchiyo: Warp Spider exarch or possibly a pathfinder leader ("outsider" character)
If you take that hypothetical list and add three japanese-style katana Wraithlords, you'd still have about 300 pts left to 1500, if you max all squads. You could buy guardians to represent the farmers for those points. Of course, I can see countless variations on the theme.
I wanted to do a squad of Exarchs but there just isn't anything like that in the Eldar codex. Maybe if my opponent is REALLY nice...
A farseer with a six-man warlock council with katana-styled witchblades and yumi counting as singing spears could do the trick
