Welcome to Librarium Online!
I am returning to 40k after a long absence of nine years, my god how things have changed. I plan on starting an eldar army as soon as I get my student loan at the end of august.
I have seen how games workshop has expanded internationally and with sub companies like forgeworld. The new models and everything look fantastic.
Anyway can anyone tell me how the are enjoying the new fifth edition. ?
Wow, you left the hobby the year I got into it.
I have yet to play 5th edition! Why won't anyone play me?!
But really, it's a blast, I really like the new rules based on the many games I've played in my imagination... 3rd edition was crap in a hat compared to this, I tell you.
Welcome to LO, by the way.
Warhammer Fantasy: Warriors of Chaos, High Elves
Warhammer 40k: Eldar, Space Marines, Orks
Well, I guess it's a warm welcome (back) to both of you - especially to you Viktor, long time no hear!
5th seems to make for a faster, more brutal game. I still don't think that GW has got it quite right - somehow not having to take any sort of target priority tests just seems downright wrong - but the overall view seems pretty much in favour. It's taking a bit of time to work out all of the (many) minor nuances between the 2 versions (4th and 5th) but I guess you ScottishOrks won't be too fussed about that ... ... ...
All-in-all, it's no bad time at all to be coming back to the hobby. And Orks, for what it's worth, seem to be even more difficult to cope with. The green tide really is on a roll!

it's cleaner than 4th ed neway, no more petty arguments about anything except cover now. I've played one 1500 point game between two players starting new armies and let me tell you it is absolutely brutal!! the game is many times more bloody than it was, almost nobody escaped the new edition unscathed. It can really out eldar to the test. you'll find it a very rewarding gaming experience I feel.
