do you mean a farseer or actually a warlock? You can't just take a single Warlock as an HQ choice. You are allowed one UNIT of warlocks per FARSEER in your army. Your HQ choices are Avatar, special characters, phoenix lords, autarch, farseer

Read your codex please, I cannot tell you what the best HQ is without knowing what your armylist will be like.

    Agree with kildish!

Amen Kildish you tell the kid.

Dude if you don't know your army list than how can you sk question.

I've ben playing elday for 1 1/2 years but i only joined this since july 21. I know eldar but come on dude warlocks are NOT an Hq choice! They are body guards for the farseer.

You cannot run a single warlock as an HQ choice...but here are some things you can run depending on your play style:

A fast attack army with jetbikes I would suggest an autarch or farseer on a jetbike. Perhaps give the farseer guide or another offensive ability.

For a foot slogger perhaps a farseer with fortune or if points allow one of the pheonix lords or avatar.

Plenty of choices and no real "best" choice

Ok, I think we covered the warlock thing... as such, I think a must have in any Eldar army is a Farseer... If its a bts game gve him a jetbke (for added toughness and speed).

Autarchs are fun, but can be glass cannons.

The Avatar is a beast, and with the new run rules could be very viable.

Phoenix Lords can be beasts as well, but are expensive in comparison.

    Easy guys!

He's on 13, probably just mis-spoke, and meant to say Autarch or more likely Farseer.

You can hardly go wrong with the avatar. Great support unit, great in close combat, and overall awesome for his points.

It sort of doesn't make sense to give advice on just the HQ. It all depends on what the rest of your army looks like. Autarch is great if you want to supplement aspect warriors with a sort-of-exarch type unit, or if you want to improve your reserves rolls (outflanking?). Avatar is great for a foot slogging army, but gets left alone if everything is mounted/mechanized. Then there's the farseer. Typically a farseer can be given the right powers to supplement almost any army. S3/4 troops and weaponry really benefit from doom, bs3 units benefit from guide, big/conspicuous/scary units benefit from fortune as they will soak up a lot of fire. So, the answer is, think about what kind of army you want, then you can start to think about the HQ.

I find you can't go wrong with a bike-seer. he's fast and very flexible. they fit into almost every eldar setup. doom and fortune arguably being the best powers to take.
