hi, i've got 220 points to spend on heavy support(i've already got a wraithlord in my army). so could i have your opinions on what i should get, or if you think i should get another heavy support at all. i'm thinking of getting another wraithlord or maybe some Dark Reapers.
I've always been a fan of fire prisms, they have a very powerful main weapon that can take out almost anything in the game, especially if you field a pair (which you have poits for but not sure if you'd want to).
Depends on the rest of your list as a whole though, maybe a falcon?
Dark reapers are strong if ya need some anti-Heavy infantry.
Warwalkers! All the way. People criticise these bad boys for being flimsy, so I never got any for ages. However - some friends who knew I liked 40k got me the box set of 3 following the advice from a bloke in the GW in the trafford centre.
I built them and used them and now I'm hooked.
Against SM's they are awesome. 3 WW armed with 2 star cannons each ...and a farseer with either guide or fortune (the re-roll misses one) - they're awesome. 12 Ap 2 s6 shots - I took a whole unit of termies off in one round in my first game - just using these.
Think about that vs Nids as well. 3 WW armed with scatter lasers - 24 S6 shots .
You do have to keep them in cover or out of range ....because they're only armour 10 and in your second and subsequent games your oppo's will make them a target of priority.
Seriously ...ignore the fluff - Prism Cannons hit like a train ....but one "armament destroyed" and you're left with an expensive hovercraft.
Thanks, iv decided to use a fire prism cos they look like they would totally rape!
Don't ignore voFluff and his walkers, I think the guy talks sense.
Fire Prism seems good on paper but I'd rather have the walkers. Actually I'd rather have both. That's it! get both!! :-)
Take the war walkers sure they're easy to destroy individually but you can take squads of them 3 war walkers vs fire prism each unit gets hit by a lascannon what's the worst that can happen
Fire Prism- Dead
War Walkers- at -33% effectiveness 2 war walkers still enough to do lots of damage to the enemy.
Thanks Guys ....
The best part about a unit of three warwalkers is the fact that most people look at them and are so afraid of the wraithlord and everything else we can bring to bear they tend to save killing the warwalkers for later. Personally I like three of the all armed with scatter lasers, they work as a great all around unit, when guided the shear number of shots will cause terminators to start dropping, and if you draw orks or nids you still have enough shots to take down a large squad in a single turn of shooting.
Fire Prisms and Falcons are great when you are able to control the battle, once they start taking fire you tend to be in a bit of a pinch, hell half the time my Falcon kills more units with star engines and tank shock/ramming then it will in the shooting phase.
Dark Reapers are a great third choice. Granted I haven't played a whole lot of games with my Eldar army yet but a fast shooting Exarch with a Tempest Launcher has been one of my most valuable "tricks" so far, a high ballistic skill plus a great Ap makes them a pretty good all around infantry killer but they work best while being supported by something else, Warwalkers, Dire Avengers it doesn't really matter they just need a little bit of help to push them along.
Well thats my 2 cents
Rheagar fought nobly
Rheagar fought valiantly
Rheagar fought honorably
And Rheagar died.
here here on the war walkers, and in 5th ed they can use the outflank USR... Nothing rocks more than 24 st 6 shots coming in from 'nowhere' or eating a whole squad of marines in a singl turn... I like paring them with a farseer on a jetike., guide + warwalkers= nuff said.

Eldar: 25,000 pts
Also I do like the clever WW idea of 24 scatter laser shots combined with guide and doom, you end with 17/18 wounds, and what nobody tells you is that squadrons treat immobilised as destroyed, so you still have to be careful with them. there's a lot of multi-shot strength 6 out there that can get them.
