Alright imagine this: A huge Carnifex jumps over an elephantine mound of ruble but it has a useless weapon. Spinefists maybe the worst choice for a Carnifex. Do you agree or is there any other weapons that would be even more useless. Add your opinions for a fun Carnifex build forum.
The most useless weapon for a 'Fex? Rending claws!
hmmms.......... probably have to go with lash whips
Hive Fleet Penance - 3500 Points - 4/1/0
Waaaaaaagh Skagtrot (40k Orks) - In Progress
Dinhar Whitestar's Dragon Host (H.E) - 2000 Points
Lashwhips - that means its stands over you and holds your hand and does nothing else!

Lashwhips are more useful than rending claws. They remove powerfist attacks which is always good.
How about fleshborers? They're the same as spinefists but they re-roll to wound rather than to hit. As fexes should nearly always wound on a 2+, you get a much lower bonus from using fleshborers than spinefists.

Anything that turns your fex into a melee fex.
The Emperor set a fire in their hearts that they might burn the iniquitous and the impure from his sight. And the light of that flame shall be as a beacon to the faithful, a light that shines in the darkest places.
There's nothing a melee 'fex can do that genestealers, hive tyrants, or pretty much anything, can't do better and usually cheaper.
Except look cool. Melee 'fexes are just nifty.
And yes, I'd have to go with rending claws. No extra attack and there's no reason in the world a carnifex wouldn't wound something on a 6.
Though, with rending claws, a carnie could, in theory, get 27 armor penetration (or 28 with +s). That would be freakin' epic.
Oh, I know! A carnifex with flesh hooks, two rending claws, sporecysts, and symbiot rippers!

And thornback? Aren't they 100% useless in 5th ed?
