You don't actually have to read this thread. The title says it all. I've just seen around 10 lists in a row that include a unit of 6 deffkoptas in it.
So, for the eleventh time, you're only allowed to have 5 deffkoptas at most in each unit.
I can see why this is happening though. A lot of people are planning to buy two copies of the new box set and splitting the contents with a friend (and their 'Marine' playing friends are getting a much better deal, if you ask me). This is giving them 6 deffkoptas, but trust me, you can only have 5 at most in each unit.
The trick is, I wouldn't use two units of 3. A single casualty will send them running. If you want to use them all, I'd use one unit of 5, and a second unit of 1.
Also, after playing a bit, I'm beginning to think that it isn't worth giving them rokkits. Just outflank with them, and aim their big shootas at back armor. It's much cheaper and seems just as effective, all things considered.
FOOLS, YOU'VE ANGERED GRAX, WHAT WERE YOU GITZ THINKIN
seriously though, , just use 5 choppers and use the other one for bitz and stuff, surely you can give a big mek some cool stuff with it
Or you could buy five boxes and form three full units.

That's just madness Parcival.

Ill probably do what Grax said and have a unit of 5 and a unit of 1
Stupid space marines get 585 points whilst lil' old orkies get 450 (Unhappy face) but we will still burn them all
Yeah, orks get the short end of the stick with the new set. That's why I recommend that everyone splitting two sets with a marine player should definitely swipe one of the two dreads. ^_^
But of course, termies and dreads take up the same slot, so they can't use everything if you buy TWO boxes each and do swapsies... which is what I've arranged.
12 Koptas... incoming!
lol, i'm doing both! i'm buying the boxed set to start both marine and ork armis! then selling the units i don't want 2 of i.e termies, dreadnaught and nobz, to buy a 2nd box!
Dark Eldar: 9/1/2 Winning streak: 6
Tyranids: 16/3/4 Winning Streak: 8
inquisition:4/0/3 Winning streak:0
This gets you...40 boyz, 20 space marines, 2 warbosses, 2 space marine captains, and 6 deffkoptas for $60.
That's quite a steal! I'm also starting a marine army when the set comes out, but I'm keeping everything, and running something like this (I already have 2 rhinos):
Space Marine captain with terminator honors, and 5 terminator retinue.
5 terminators, deep striking
2 space marine tactical squads, with rhinos
2 Dreads with anti-armor setups
I figure that's around 1000-1250 points, depending on how I play them, and I have some imperial guard men and chimeras, which I can use as allied inquisitorial storm troopers or scouts, to get them up to 1500 points.
