Welcome to Librarium Online!
Flayed Ones and Wraiths are by far my most favourite warhammer 40k models, so far I have a destroyer lord, 4 warriors and a wraith what would be the best way to expand to 750pts?
LOTS OF FLAYED ONES AND WRAITHS PLEASE, I have a really good idea for the wraiths Im going to paint one or two of there skin green cause you know after they kill somehting they wear its skin, and it would look like it killed a ork!
If you plan to actually play some games you're going to need at least 20 warriors. They are not an optional choice. After you figure that out for points see where you can go from there. From what I know of Necrons 500pts gets you a Lord w/Res Orb, 20 Warriors and not much else overall. So that leaves you with about 250 points to use there. Also remember that in a regular game of 40k you are very limited in the number of Flayed Ones and Wraiths you can use. Might want to look at picking up some heavy destroyers or just destroyers. Have seen them used to great effect before.
I love Flayed Ones. With the new Outflank rules you don't have to worry about them walking across the table. They dish out a lot of attacks and have good max squad size. Plus the models are very nice
Wraiths on the other hand are much to fraile for me. Now that you can draw line of site through area terrain makes hiding them even harder. Yes they have an inv save but you will fail it eventually. With only one wound and low max squad size I don't like them.
I love this. Necron CC units look so badass I'd love to see an army themed as such.
How about this?
1 Flayed Lord (Either convert a Flayed One into a Lord since you'll have 1 extra, or take a Lord and paint his cape like skin)
Res Orb, Gaze of Flame
7x Flayed Ones
6x Flayed Ones
Attach the Flayed Lord to one of the groups of Flayed ones and outflank the other group.
Even though Wraiths are probably the coolest looking units in the game, they're too easily killed and not really worth taking unless you pair them with a Destroyer Lord carrying a bunch of wargear. (UNLESS you're playing in a cities of death board or something else equally as cluttered where you can phase through walls to slash faces off)
