    flanking, infiltrating waveserpents

So I was reviewing the flanking rule and saw that you can do it with dedicated transports.

I immediately thought of striking scorpions exploiting that to get a waveserpent behind enemy lines. I suppose rangers could do it too, but that seems less useful.

So, has anyone done this, and if so is it worth it?

I imagine the benefits being able to get across the board protected from fire--obviously at the cost of shooting for a couple turns. With running and move-through-cover the scorpions likely don't need the serpent much, but having the tank pop up unexpectedly could be helpful, especially if it gets a bead on some rear armor.

Anyway, if anyone has tried this out I'm curious about how useful this epiphany of mine was.

    Good luck!

    Have fun,

    Frank

I have used it once and it was awesomesauce. Even with other the guns though the waveserpent makes them easy to get across the board if you come out on the wrong side. Okay so you end up on the side of the board when no one is at you then hightail it to the other side which for the waveserpent is 24" of fun, your back in the game and if the waveserpent should get shot down by then their high armour save ensures the majority of them will survive a crash. A waveserpent is the way to go.

Well I think the key to remember is that the Scorps have to got to come on the table in the vehicle so you will never be able to charge they come in play but I used them as a firebase with their shuriken pistols. The game we played we played in corners and I came on behind a space marine player 12". The scorps jumped out and focused their fire on troops inside a building and the waveserpent strikes at the back of a predator blowing up. The space marine player had too refocus his firing on the scorp unit that ust cam eon and its waveserpent that was now behind them. I had a falcon coming up front and the waveserpent behind trapping his armoured units. It worked well. The scorps took a beating and were eventually destroyed but they gave the rest of my army the time they needed to cross the field with little fire directed at them so they could mix it up in furture turns.
